What a great spot I will be up there next weekend wen the crowd has gone and it looks like the duck hole has a lot of sand in it.I have pulled a lot of great blackfish out of there.

I got some great kings last night one on a live Taylor and the other on a yakker. But don't just fish with squid because last week I had a live squid out for about 40min and got 7 kings on garfish then took the squid home and ate him to very nice. The kings I got last night was 90 cm and a 87 cm fishing for Jew .( got no Jews)

Great catch I also run a steels 2500 fd and what a great reel 10 kg of drag I use 30 lb on my steel a and have got kings over the 1 meter Great job

dont mean to be nasty but if you see people hook a good fish you should stay your distance and not downrig oround there boat by the way we got 3 over the meter and 4 kings 85- 87

they are great fish i was over in nz with 7 mates in feb, and we had a ball. we fished with slipray charters and a very well ran boat, we fished 5 days with over 300 kings on jigs sea bass and countless snapper on bait and plastic, but nothing that fat, but not far off, the biggest king we got was about 15kg and snapper about 6kg. the charter for us cost under 2k each from the time you walked out the front door at home till the time we got home and we all came home with 10kg of snapper fillets each and 6-8kg on the gut, the food on the boat was out of this world...

one very good thing to do is fish with your drag set at strik (locked up) when the kings hit they hit hard and if they feel resistance they will drop it and there goes another good king.

i went down there on sunday morning, got there at 6am for the change of tide,got 3 small jew bigest went 55cm and 4 flathead bigest went 49cm. was out of the water by 8am home by 8:30 and had two flathead in my belly by 9, all other fish were let go to fight again...

very good news my wife will not be happy to wake up to the sound of fishing again, but stiff sh##

sounds like you had a great time, and what a place. The family and i and four other couples are heading to the same spot when the holidays finish for two weeks.
