  1. Note to self; Publishing lots of extraneous detail while leaving out the location makes the punters go, off topic, & make 'mullet' ,jokes!
  2. Well done nice pig & Horsehoe leathery
  3. Nice feed gotto be happy with that.
  4. Good luck Ben,are you still running horses? I miss the Carp!
  5. We got one up at Frazer Is. a couple of yrs. back ...over 1m long ! Definetly a tropical sp. of Flutemouth
  6. There were some fishermen who said a good fish was landed at Cliffon Gds , anyone know who it was?
  7. I too am distraught at the passing of such a great fisho, my condolences to his family.
  8. It is a "Cowfish",and it's liver is extremly toxic, containing a neurotoxin that will paralyse your central nervous system.
  9. Hi,James I wet a line there with 2 other mates yesterday am. We used freshly caught squid & pillies. We had a couple of runs but no hook-ups ,although we did see the Kings & Surgeons. They are v leader shy now,and we do not fish light. We were the group that got the Mac Tuna & tried to net a +80cm King for the girl near the pontoon(it went under & busted her off,but she did make a good atempt on a fiesty fish.) Thanks for the report it was good.See Ya
  10. Think the best have gone with the good rainwater flush we had last month. You may get a few smaller ones for bait next week.
  11. Sorry Errol that you crapped out.We must have finessed them before you arrived
  12. Those must have been good Kings to chase Bonito. When they are focused on pelagics you can sometimes interest them in 'Gar' type lures,or even dead gars rigged to troll.
  13. Yeah ,nice Bonnie. Noticed that the water coming into the Harbour on the run in was blue & cold yesterday (about 18 ). But the water in the upper reaches of the Middle & Main Harbour was dirty but nice & warm and that the Pelagics were working in these areas, and that the Bream & Blackfish were enjoying the cold water and feeding freely.
  14. Gee it sure makes you think. Had something similar happen a year back, hooked a decent King on light line. They always head for the piles where I was fishing so I thought NO CHANCE......instead it took off like a maniac into open water even though I was applying little pressure. Thinking afterwards I'm positive it was avoiding being dinner for the sharks.I landed it quite easily as it was so exhausted by the time it stopped running!
  15. The Airlines are offering some great deals on flights to Fiji like 7 days for the same price as 5 etc
  16. Well done,if it WAS near the Heads Kingfish like this are not uncommon around NZ, Jervis Bay& Norfolk. A mate was on a 2 day charter where the Smallest Kingfish caught was 110cm! Sorry to be such a cynic, but you are " milking" this thread.
  17. Except for Middle Hbr.& the Parramatta River I have found that the fish go off the bite the day after the fireworks.I think it has something to do with the percussion of the explosions u derwater But this morning they were all back and Hungry! Had a great session and most species were hungry, landed some really nice Bream today
  18. well done ,Kiddo you are one a lifetime quest to get the big one!
  19. Hi smacka, did you try any 9" stickbaits for bigger Kings? Were you using sluggos or similar and was white the go? Well done on that nice king ,don't they go when they have a bit of size!
