  8. went out today in pittwater with a mate and promised a bream or two or at least few fish, but to my dismay we got nothing except for one flathead which was about 25cm and that was it for the whole day.we used minnows of all colours, hawgs squidges sx40s the lot and for pretty much no results. whats going on there as its been three times in a row where ive been disapointed by pittwater. is it just me or is everyone else coming up with nothing.

    Anchoring

so the best way to anchor outside is with a pick with cable ties around the shaft,no chain and an anchor bouy with clip as nearly everytime i anchor up it takes ages to drive the stupid thing off the bottom. will this reduce the hassle of anchoring?
  10. ebays the go for those stranger sizes and lures but you'll probably have to get them from the usa.if not try bass pro shop or somehing like that as most USA shops send here but charge you a small fortune for postage.type what your after in google and you should find what you need.good luck.

    Brooker Boats

why pay 10000(for a pretty crap one) or 15000 for a good one when you can get a brand new model a 485 bay raider for around 17500 with a 4 stroke 60 yamy on the back. i looked for about 6 months for a good boat(exactly what your after)but nothing was ever that good for the price eg 13500-15000 for a 3-4 year old boat with only a 40 2 stroke on the back. i got mine from empire bay marine as they were the cheapest by far.i was quoted 9200 for just the hull at some brooker dealers and at empire bay i got the hull for only 7400.shop aroungnd though andjust think, for an extra 2000-3000 grand youll get a new shiny boat. good luck
  15. are the motor guide units any better?
  16. what has happenened to your one if you dont mind me asking. 3 times is a bit rough and how old is it?
  17. minn kota,i thought were supposed to be the best trolling motors around so i was glad to folk out my hard earned cash to get a quality product(so i thought). on my second trip out with my new motor and only having the thing for two weeks to my suprise it wouldnt respond to the foot controller(the model is the rt55 ap)so i thought not pluged in.checked everything still not turning but prop going fine and strangely the auto pilot was turning itself off after a short period of time, and all of a sudden it worked but again the auto pilot kept going off.this kept going for a while until it just all of sudden kept spinning in the same direction and wouldnt stop even after i pulled the foot controller out.had to turn it off at the breaker before it could rip its flexible lead out. i could expect something like this to happen on an older unit but not two weeks old and i was dissapointed with the response of ABA who i bought it off telling me to bring it back and they will send it away and get fixed-,how about a new unit or even offer to come and pick(living in newport its a fair trek out to drop it off and pick it up and i work most saturdays and fish sundays) the unit up.this was not even mentioned when i called so now im without a motor as its being sent to BLA in queensland for who knows how long and all round a bit cranky about the whole thing. is this a one off or do they always have problems with these units.

    2 Stroke Owners

ive only had 2 strokes in the past and i thought with my new boat id keep that plan, but after speaking to a number of boat owners, mechanics and reps i decided on getting a four stroke for a number of reasons-1-can actully hear people when moving without shouting,2-with petrol the price as it is, you save after the initial outlay after a year of good use,3-no more messy mixs and finally so ive heard, better relability and easier to maintain your self(so ive heard). So in keeping with two stroke power range i decided to get the yamaha 60 four stroke with high thrust. this is the quietest motor ive ever heard and uses less fuel than my old johnson (98 MODEL)15 hp 2 stroke with twice the mileage. definatly go for the four stroke, its a bit more to start with and the services are a bit more but youll save that money in no time with the fuel bills with good use.
  19. best and biggest bream ive seen in ages, i think ill have to go to SA next weekend after a poor days fishing in pittwater with only one bream from the whole day. well done on the pb.
  20. nice bream mate lot better result for you two compared pittwater and the hawkesbury, not a single fish all day.
