  1. I thought id give the bass ago the other day a bit earlier in the year than usual but this area in summer crawls with snakes and others critters that make me run fast. After a solid walk into where the pools of water are i decided to use a surface lure, First cast in an aerial assualt i got smacked by a little bass and was on, possibly my favourite form of fishing...Well to cut a very long story short, i explored an fished for 3hrs to pull out 5 healhty bass ranging from aprox 15-35cm..Also got my first bass on SP which i thought was preety cool..Not sure if this is usual or not but there were quite a few small blackfish, bream and mullet in the freshwater pools which were atleast 50m away from any salt water, i thought it was quite odd..

Fished the high tide at mona this afternoon, was a preety productive seshion with 3 flathead (2 undersize) and one solid bream..Also got busted up by what i suspect to be a BIG bluenose bream which took me into the rocks..All fish were released excpet the one bream as he swallowed the hook and didnt look as he was going to survive, arwell he will be eaten tonite :biggrin2:

  4. Great effort fellas, very envious

we were getting into them on 24kg gear, but i think they would be 5x more fun on 15kg!

a mate headed out on the same charter a few years back i think and hooked up and landed a yellowfin of aprox around 55kg + (wasnt officialy weighed) the fight lasted 4 an bit hrs on 15kg tackle :1yikes::1yikes:

He wasnt even able to hold a beer at the end of the day because he arms were so spent...

  5. is that palm beach wharf by any chance

    :biggrin2:

Nice squid, Trouble. Now it's time to ask the hard question - food or bait?

    Flattieman.

  6. Had a go at the pittwater last night, was preety quite but we ended up with two solid squid and one stonker and lost a few decent ones :mad3: We only pulled one squid from each spot which was quite odd as we usually pull a few from the school..

  7. Its funny how the look of the rocks can give away a spot, good detective work but shhh, haha.Yeah there was a few guys pulling in a couple of blackies and drummer out but they were a bit thin probably due to there not being much wash..

  8. Saw something smack some bait on the surface just next to to the shoreline so i decided to walk over there with the camera and took a pic using the flash...

    Preety cool eh?

    Probably a 35cm + specimen

They have been fussy buggers though this year and have only caught 2 fish from around 8 outings

  9. Fished the rocks yesterday with a fair a bit of succes, with 20+ trevally, 3 bream caught between a few of us.Swell was quite small so that was probably the main reason the action was a tad slow but it was still consistent enough for us to be having a good time..Probably didnt also help that we had a pod of 100+ dolphins rip through chasing bait within metres of the ledge..

Trevally average around 500grm with the odd few stonker here n there..

All the fish where released except a couple of bream

    a few more pics

  10. had my best seshions on kings aswell in pouring down rain, ..I usually fish in heavy rain for jew and the next few days, only jew have been landed but :mad3:

  11. Great effort mate, looks like you have the river sussed out quite well..Well done on the catch, quite impressive to say the least..

Whats the deal with the bronzie and the bream on the same hook, the shark go after the bream and end up on it aswell?:1yikes:

  12. Ive had a few seshions over the past month, still catching 3-4 quality bream and whiting with the odd flatty a seshion, all fish have been caught in 5-10ft of water close to shore near weed beds using live nippers..damn pinkies are a pest though..

Not one bit of surface action seen
