  1. Sweet, thanks for the tip. Me and my mates had a go in that area the other day. Picked up one rat kingy as we were leaving but we will definitely be going back there because it looks like a good spot. Not sure whether it would be best fished on the drift, anchored or downrigged yet but im sure we will work it out by trying different things. Hopefully these kings will start to move into pittwater in numbers soon. Had a pretty good season last summer. fingers crossed this one will be better.
  2. Good stuff. Its funny how the best fishing is often when the conditions are crap. Just wondering what depth you were fishing your livies on the drift? Do you have them near the bottom or up mid water? cheers

    3 Easy Ones

yeah i 4th that. BTW the wrasse and fortescue will go well in a tank provided it is big enough for the wrasse to have room to swim around lots.
  4. I have had a few of the in my tank before. They are pretty interesting to keep. I could never find a name or species for them until i saw them at the aquarium. They called the an Estuary Perchlet. Didnt have a species name though. I have also seen them called glass fish since then. The ones i have seen range from 2cm - 10cm and i actually caught a 3cm on a tiny hook and a spec of bread once, Thats easily the smallest thing i have ever caught on line.
  5. Hey i know that wharf. I grew up fishing that wharf. Always a good spot to go for a squid. Great photos, i like the way you got right up close to the Bream and squid. Will have to try that technique.

    Rock Cod Like?

Yeah definitely a kelp fish. Had one in my tank for a few months once.
  7. Cant really help you with the "sharky" sharks but me and my mates caught a few Large Port jacksons at sow and pigs last week on sunset. Im sure thats not the sort of shark you are after but i spose it better than catching nothing.........Maybe (I think i would have preferred my livie to stay down their for something else to eat)

  10. Thanks for the tips mate. Have done of a bit of a search and read about the Sailors bay wreck, so i will head there and have a look around with the sounder for sure. Will give pickering pt a go as well. Hoping to get out there for a look this week, so fingers crossed i will have a bit of luck. cheers
  11. Awesome kingie. and great report. Fishing in close seems to be the only way to avoid those bloody leather jackets at the moment.
  12. What a great session, Dont you just love days like that. Well done.
  13. Nice solid blackie there. Well done. Did it fall to cabbage weed or the stringier stuff (if you dont mind telling)
  14. Great jewy mate. Good to see the fishing is starting to pick up. Nice flatty too BTW.
  15. Gday fellas. First post i think, although ive been reading for a while. Ive been seeing a few reports lately (and previous years) of kingies in middle harbour and was thinking of giving the area a go in the coming summer. The problem is i have only even fished MH once before, so dont really know any spots with structure which are likely to hold kings or baitfish. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some general info about wrecks or reefs in middle harbour. Im not necessarily after exact marks or anything if you dont want your spots given away. (Although a few GPS marks via PM would be very much appreciated.) General areas to sound out and find these structures or names of well known wrecks so i can do some research would be great. p.s. Would also be great if someone could point me in the right direction for getting squid day or night. Again not after an exact spot as i know squid are everywhere. Just wondering if i would be better off trying up closer roseville boat ramp or down towards the harbour a bit more, around the moorings/Spit bridge area. Thanks for your help. Pukunui
