  1. Donkey Reds! What an ausome haul of GREAT fish!
  2. Sounds like your trying to keep livies in a bucket of water? This will work if you want to not fish and change water continuously
  3. Possibly look at a Jigging master... They are the IT jigging rod.. I have a spartan and I dont rate it to be honest.. Smith rods rock!!!! Thats my next purchase.
  4. Looks like whakatane. Looks like a great trip, although I would explore other NZ fisheries next trip. White Island and the rocks are not as productive as other areas in NZ.
  5. Nice Fish buddy. Im hearing the Marlins are plotting your demise off shore.. Make your your well rested for next week!
  6. Those jews are mind blowing!! Good work on getting stuck into those Marlins. Your Marlin YOUTUBE clips are long overdue... looking forward to seeing them. Bill

  9. Wowwww.. and what a fast bastard he is!!! Well done
  10. My brother worked there as a ranger. He would always let guys fish there as the love for fishing runs in the family. He always said that other rangers chased fishos away, and even issued fines quite a bit. Fishing is banned in that whole area. There are some stonkers down at the sydney fish market also..
  11. No it is not and you may be issued with on the spot fines..
  12. wow thats a stonker kingie!!.. Reminds me of my trip to the bay of islands. Great work..
  13. I was driving through picnic point and noticed your boat from the photo....
  14. Great fish and good work. Just wondering if you seen any kingie action on LR? Thanks
  15. Congratulations on the catch. Salmon are always great fun and dirty fighters. Just a tip for the next Salmon you catch is to bleed them right away. This makes them acceptable on the table.
  16. The big Yakkas are not yakkas, they are Jack Mackerals.
  17. Did you fish Bay of Islands? I was there a month ago. We bagged out on 1m Kings. Biggest went 1.12m. I got reefed by what felt like a thumping King. I am a guy of 105kg and I struggled to hold onto the rod.
  18. Congratulations on a greta trip out! I was actually considering doing 12 mile on Sunday, although I felt a bit lazy. Just wondering what time you were out there?
  19. Cracking fish. Congrats. I am heading out over the easter break for my first ever jewie fish.
  20. I like to think of them as King Yellowtail. They are Jack mackerals. Not bad eating either. There are everywhere in plague proportion at the moment.
  21. Great job. I floated some fresh squid all morning out near the oil wharf all morning for no kings. Did manage a 34cm snapper, but not what I was after.
  22. Well done mate.. Looks like you cant go without a downrigger in the bay for big kings.. Great fish there. Did you end up catching any fish on Saturday?? It was pretty quiet all round. I hauled in 2 aussie salmons and let me tell you it was a big let down as we made the effort to get out early and burley up some big juicy yakkas.
  23. Did you end up scoring anything yesterday?
