  1. Well we made it half way! decided that IF the wind and chop didn't calm down as forecast the trip back would spoil the day. so we come back to long reef. found trevs, rat kings, yakkas the same size as the kings anda pod of dolphins that rode our bow for a bit. No tuna, no keepers but still beats being at work.
  2. Will do. Thanks for the tip Reel game. Will be in a 6.4m glass boat, so long as wind and swell are not double the forecast we should be comfortable, if its slow, its slow. I'll have at least 40l extra fuel on board. The will make sure we pull up stumps with time to spare, fish or no fish!!
  3. Hey all, heading out tomorrow to have a crack at these tuna. Haven't been out there before but don't see a problem tomorrow by the look of the weather. And i reckon we won't be alone...Anyone else heading out in the morning?
  4. By the calander i thought it was full moon tomorrow (14th) night but its actually 4:58AM tomorrow . So do you think it would be better fishing tonight or tomorrow night?

    West Head

Hi everyone, Was wondering if anyone knows if West Head is still holding good numbers of Yakkas? Or have the baby Sweep and those brown and white stripy things moved in already?
  9. Nice haul guys, The black fish is a fish i haven't targeted much. I'll have to change that this winter.
  10. Some guys i know call them 'Kingfish Lolly Pops', Reckon they love 'em. Also heard choppers do too. I don't know about jews though. I threw one out live on a beach once for a jew but came up with a flattie. Good luck
  11. North end of the pittwater from the shore
  12. I use two hooks (long shank size 8 or 6) on different length leaders coming off one swivel. A short length of line for a burley cage, swivel on top, snap swivel on botom (so this piece of line is removable) and a snap swivel at the end of my leader, and just a bobby float above that. Once the fish are content in front of me i take the burley cage off to lighten up the rig. Unless there is wind impeading my casting. Firmley squash bread on and when the float moves across the water, strike and wind and don't stop or even slow down untill they're on the sand. They only need the tention to drop a tiny bit and they'll throw the hook. They'll even jump in front of the float to get slack line.. They're smart!
  13. Hi all, Decided to leave the boat at home today, this whether calls for a fish and a swim in the pittwater WITHOUT the efort of launching and landing the Boat. So Em end up landing her first ever, and then her second, Garfish and i get my best haul (12) of these little hook throwing, Ballistic Billfish. And a record, 36cm Garfish as well. They are my favourite target as they make good bait, good eating and the fight is unreal. They go nut... I love it. See Ya.
  14. Thats exactly what I just had for dinner Beer battered flake!! yummy
