    Boat Trailers

I have a 7m plate boat and have recenly cut all my rollers off the trailer and replaced them with a series of V's, each V is stainless steel with 20mm hi density polyethelene strips screwed to them, and are the width of the trailer, the boat is supported along the keel and bottom/sides. its hard for me to explain but ill put some photos up, when driving the boat up as soon as the bow touches the V on the end of the trailer regardless if im way off centre and the wind or current is moving me away i then jus give it some power and it automatically self aligns and goes straight up the centre like a arrow, i launchn and retrieve my 7m boat single handed much easier than 2 blokes with a 5m, each V is set at the same angle of the hull in its corresponding point for ex the back V is 15d while the front is 45d,also the boat sits so snug on the trailer as the Vs act like a cradle and it is supported along the keel and both sides, so my point is have a look at this kind of system ill never own another trailer like it
  8. Who did the welding on the boat? it looks quite good
  9. ILL BE IN TOUCH IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS IVE BEEN OUTTA ACTION, SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY

  11. i fish out of jervis bay most weekends and need crew, must know way around boat and be able to fish every 2nd weekend or so and be willing to share costs, gear not necessary, game fishing experience preferred.
  12. Anybody have a lowrance hds-5x sounder? im thinking of buying one, i mainly fish blue water and the ability to see bait in depths upto 80 fathoms (480ft) is of great importance, can anybody let me know how they perform?
  13. I HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM I EVEN POSTED A FORUM SIMILAR TO YOURS ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO, I GOT ALL SORTS OF ANSWERS FROM THE HANDPIECE IS STUFFED TO A BROKEN AERIAL TO WRONG BRAND OF RADIO... FIRST CHECK THAT THE UNIT IS SWITCHED ON HI FREQUENCY NOT LOW FREQUENCY, OTHERWEISE PAY THE FEE USUALLY AROUND $80 AND HAVE THE UNIT CHECKED BY A DEALER, IT WILL SAVE YOU LOTS OSF STUFFING AROUND.... ALSO LOOK AT THE REPLIES TO MY FORUM ITS CALLED VHF RADIO PROBLEMS
  14. its completely insured no matter where i leave it. i have a premium policy for that very reason
  15. Yeah give it a miss mate the bay is a nightmare in a strong S/E, you could fish murrays for squid n greenpatch for hammerheads n whalers but thats bout it...
  16. Hi all i have a 7m plate cuddy cabin trailer boat, i live in maroubra and have no where to store it betwwen fishing trips which are every 2nd or 3rd weekend, if anybody out there has a large backyard or workshop space or any space where i could park my boat and would like to arrange a cash agreement or free gamefishing trips or something along those lines, i would love to here from you anywhere in sydney would be considered..... cheers
  17. how big was the mako? and on wat class tackle was it caught
  18. spot on geoff, i drive the boat as you say... i really think i jus need a bit more lift to power over the next wave that my bow is dipping into
  19. i have a 4 bladed prop, the broaching happens when i have 20+ knots of wind behind me and anything over a metre of chop
  20. Geoff thats accurate, but ive found the safest thing to do in my boat is power over the wave, thats fine, its the chop thats very steep n close together which causes the trouble as my bow burys itself into the chop n the wave or chop behind me pushes my stern, so if i can get my bow higher id skip over the top of the next wave or chop.... if ya know what i mean...
  21. trim tabs wont help get the front up at all... trim tabs help to level out the stern and keep it on the plane, well thats my understanding... thanks for the input though
  22. i have a 7mt plate cuddy cab which broaches in a following sea and when the wind and chop is against the back qaurter, to me it feels like i cant get the nose up high enough even when i trim the motor up to lift the bow and that helps a bit, i have minimul weight up front and in the cabin except for the crew, my question is, would fitting a perma trim allow me to trim the motor up therefore pushing the back down and lifting the nose higher than the standard motor will allow ....
  23. im fishing out of jervis bay tomorrow, ill be trolling the shelf n canyons in search of marlin i got 1 spot to fill, so PM me before 9.30pm if your interested, own tackle not necessary but must be willing to share costs....
