The weekend went off beautifully with no problems being encountered. Over 20 members attended and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Roll call was as follows: mrsswordfisherman, swordfisherman,rus_cb, ozeash, sharky, crazedfisherdude, slayer666, Outnumbered, mrsoutnumbered, madsmc, jewhunter, quinfish and wife Janet, Mondo and Chucky, kenmare, ianoc69, OutdoorDan, b-fore-tony, 2 guests Bernie and son. All members registered on a Registration Sheet and fish caught were logged on a Capture Sheet. Those species caught included whiting, bream, tarwhine, flathead, tailor and catfish The breakfast provided by Brian and Teri was outstanding and kicked the Sunday off perfectly. A big thank you to you both. The fisheries people arrived at 8am and set up their van all day. The fisheries officers gave an informative talk at 12 midday on marine parks and sanctuaries, size and bag limits, general fishing rules and answered the many questions posed by our members. They spoke about their powers and duties as an officer. They have the power to use force if needed and arrest persons who are unco - operative. They can also seize and impound vehicles, boats and tackle etc. The information was very interesting. The trophy was awarded to rus_cb. Two flatties were close in size but rus_cb's was measured by Stewy and the fisheries person at 44cms and Outdoordan was measured at 42 cms. Everyone was happy with the result, especially rus_cb who was over the moon. A special award was presented to MrsOutnumbered for her great breakky. She now sports a limited edition fishraider hat. The day ended with all the members filling in an Evaluation Form. A big thanks to you all for your comments and suggestions. We now have some fantastic ideas for future socials. It was a very successful exercise and I would like to add a huge thanks to Stewy. His organisation of the weekend activities and professional manner with the fisheries people was a credit to himself and fishraider members. Great stuff Stewy! Which 2 raiders spent the whole Sunday in sick bay throwing up? Who was involved in the "bail arm incident"?? Who arrived in the carpark on the back of a vehicle? (the same idiot) Who DID end up winning Blackjack - the adult drinking game? Who couldnt decide how many lollipops to buy and bought the whole jar? Who was the lazy turd who filled his esky with beers and made someone else carry it to the beach in the dark? Did TEAM FISHRAIDER win the game of Charades against the occupants of Villas 1, 2 , 3 and 4? Who had a potential trophy winning bream in one hand and a treble hook in the other? What large group was cautioned to be removed from the caravan park for making too much noise at 1am? Who drank schnapps?(and lived to tell the tale) Who pretended to be The Submariner and swim out with his bait? Who did commando rolls on the beach? Who got lost at the pub? Which 2 persons did NOT have their fishing licences? Which raider saw 3 blokes walking onto the beach and commented on their pretty starlites (quote: hey look at these p#$%ters with the starlites on their rods) thinking they were 3 raiders, oops sorry and finally Who caught a pb saltwater catfish? (he thought he had the trophy won) Is the beanbag to be adopted as the Fishraider mascot? Who had their pink Smiling Jack bitten in half? Hi all, A fantastic weekend was had by all. There are so many stories to be posted on here and in the next day or so the post will be made. Hi Sammy, As Stewy mentioned we have the Lowrance. We did a fair bit of research on these instruments prior to selecting the unit. The Lowrance website has downloads of product demos/emulators. I used the emulator to learn how to use it before we bought it. You can try before you buy, experiment with advanced features and settings. Its actually lots of fun. I agree Grantm. I am a healthcare professional and daily receive Health Dept bulletins regarding "health alerts". A lot of the warnings issued are due to the litigious nature of our society unfortunately. It is up to an individual to read and listen and to make up their own minds about how to respond.
