  1. oh by the way,,,,,, who was the mod that got us kicked off the balcony after an unfortunate glass smashing accident :1prop::1prop:

    Well it wasnt me :074:

Hmmmm it wasn't me either and got the pics to prove it :biggrin2:

Watch this post for all the pics from last night, and the REAL inside story.

    Cheers mrsswordfisherman

  2. Some very valid points put forward here by the members regarding various things. It has gone a little "off topic" TiMmY but I am sure you will have found some of what you needed answered. You had done your research on Quintrex and Stacer boats and specifically asked for views from Poly owners on the Polycraft.

Those that have experience with Polys have given you some ideas hopefully.

Whatever boat you choose I am sure that you will spend many many pleasurable hours doing what we all enjoy, :1fishing1:

Don't forget to post us all a pic of the new purchase and good luck!!

    Cheers mrsswordfisherman

  3. Came down to either Quintrex or Stacer 4.2 open boat .... until recently been hearing a bit how good the Poly is and now he wants to know more about Poly and anyone who has had it for a while.

Any of you had a tinnie and then bought a Poly? Which one were you happier with & why?

Really hope any fishos out there that have had experience with Poly boats can help us out to get a better idea.

What an interesting debate this has evolved into.

Firstly I will revert back to the original post by TiMmY.

    1. The MAIN point is that he wants an OPEN BOAT not one with half cabins, windscreens, biminis and/or "creature comforts".

    2. He specifically asks for the opinions of those that have had tinnies and now own a Poly.

    3. Requests any fishos that have had experience with Poly boats to help him out to get a better idea.

Telco, thank you for your opinions and comments but in your post you admit that you "don't own a poly or an alloy boat".

Swordfisherman has fished out of tinnies and half cabins and all manner of craft for many years (up to a 7.5 metre PREDATOR). Prior to owning the Poly, swordfisherman fished out of a 4 metre Brooker flat bottom pointy nose punt. Before that he owned a 5.2 Caribbean Crestcutter (same as Outnumbered's boat).

I feel that swordfisherman is well authorised to answer this gentleman's questions based on the above facts and I hope his honest, reliable and credible comments regarding the Poly will help TiMmY with his next purchase. On the subject of propaganda, perhaps the Poly owners of the world could form a philosophical group to propagate the dogma........... :1gathering:

All jokes aside, come on all you Poly boat owners, help TiMmY out here too. I am sure he is looking forward to more opinion on this excellent boat.

By the way Telco, I just looked at the pic of your gorgeous skiboat in the Members Pics post. I enjoyed skiing in my younger days too. I loved your comment "not much of a fishing machine but the :wife: loves it". It sure pays to keep the women happy huh

  4. You got 20 answers right.

    You got 0 answers wrong.

    You're a bottler, mate!

You are a fair dinkum, ridgy didge, dinky die, true blue, dyed-in-the-wool Ocker-like strine speaker. Well bugger me, you could probably even play a didgeridoo and know the proper way to twirl a billy. Goodonya. Get us another stubbie while you're up, will ya... and have one yourself while you're at it!

Woohoooo must be because I am a true blue aussie sheila (and run trivia nights :biggrin2: )

  5. Go see Yabbie first and then you will get an idea of what you need to do  They will help and advise you on your best course of action .They are very approachable as well ,Ben (wakd) is also a member and works at Yabbie as well and would only be to happy to assist you in your hour of need :biggrin2:

    Cheers Swordfisherman

P.S If you want an intro I will come over with you at the end of the week

Yes Stewy is right there. We have always had good service from them and they turned our boat out beautifully as you saw at the social day. We seem to push this company down everyone's throats at times but they looked after us and we are very pro Polycraft as it has exceeded all expectations.

They sell other brands there as well, new and second hand and you may pick up something that suits your price range. Don't forget that you can start off with a basic hull and add stuff as finances permit :biggrin2:

Don't despair, take your time and keep on being a great deckie with your fishraider mates till you become a skipper in your own right

    Above all ENJOY YOUR FISHING

    Cheers mrsswordfisherman

  6. Hi Sammy,

Try this solution, its a common problem. You have your setting on OUTLINE and it needs to be on STANDARD.

  7. Hi All,

The evening started off well. At 5pm we met at the designated spot. Soon it was to be a cast of 1000's.

Roll call included Outnumbered and MrsOutnumbered and rus_cb, Jay and mate, Sammy0884 and fishin4fun, choteo and wife Sylvia and 21mth old son Lucas, TonOfFun and Sharky and mate Ben, stevefish, yours truly and swordfisherman (forgive me if I have forgotten anyone, pm me plz)

On the water we met up with wakd and kikila and buster1.

We made plans as we stood on the beach like soldiers ready for the assault on the Jewfish population :074: .

Sharky decided that he would need some sort of lure, he had no bait at all and took off to the tackle shop. Others keenly checked out each others boats and rods etc.

After the obligatory bs session :gathering: about what was to be caught and where (SECRET SPOTS) :1yikes: we headed off in all directions. Contact was to be made via 27 meg or mobile phone.

We went out to the CC bridge and flogged the water for about and hour and a half with no result. Judging by the phone calls no one else was having any luck either. The storms looked like they were about to wreck a good night so we pulled the pin and came home.

As we left we said bye to all the boats in our vacinity. When we arrived back at the Oatley boat ramp we met up with quinfish and his brother John who were just on their way out after dealing with some boat probs.

A BIG WELCOME to another female. Choteo's wife Sylvia and their 21 month old son Lucas joined in last night and showed they are worthy fishraiders. Fishraider's youngest member was seen wielding his rod like an old pro

A couple of shots of members follow (apologies for the poor quality). Brian and Teri took some pics also and I am sure they will post soon (after sleep) to let us know about the night's events. These Trojans stayed out all night and here's hoping it was fruitful for them.

Thank you to Brian and Teri for organising the evening from us all, excellent job.

  9. How about a social in Botany bay , there are plenty of spots to fish, boat and

land based, and plenty of places to meet up (Kurnell beach Brighton beach)

Which are easy for family and frends to get to

Any RAIDERS got any other thoughts on the subject

    :1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1::1fishing1:

Yes great idea BUSTER. There are also ideas to have socials in other spots like the South Coast and the many spots around Sydney. Our members live far and wide and it is good to give all an opportunity to meet up and fish. Swordfisherman and I would be in for a Botany Bay one for sure.

    Cheers mrsswordfisherman

P.S. Don't for get our first social for this year on March 5th

  13. Oh yes the :wife: factor always comes into it doesn't it! I was hoping for good weather so we could have a 'family' day on the beach somewhere oh you know somewhere up the coast.. Good quality time with the :wife: and :1prop: kids.. great beach, beautiful surf and maybe just maybe sneak a couple of rods in and disperse them in amongst I don't any nice gutters that might be found on the beach? Oh only if I find any so I'll have to bring the rods just in case! Reckon :wife: will buy it? hehe Oh well it's happening either way! :1fishing1:

Ohhhhhhh us poor :wife: cop it all don't we. Give me a nice beach fish on a moonlight evening, nice picnic dinner and a bottle of wine (expensive of course), rods all set up. Have a wager on who gets the best catch and away we go. Cmon boys take your women fishing!!!!!!!! Then ask them to join Fishraider so I don't have to change my name to Robinson Crusoe :074::074:

    Cheers mrsswordfisherman

  14. Hi Marlin-Madness

I have only just joined Fishraider and this is my first post, but have been a regular reader for quite a few months.

Both my wife and I wear prescription glasses and we clean our glasses Scotchbrite High Performance Cleaning cloths. You'll find them in your supermarket aisle near the cleaning sponges. These cloths are great for cleaning glass or mirrors. You can use them with or without cleaning solution to clean your glasses. Once the cloth gets dirty you can throw it in the washing machine (without fabric softner according to Telcobroker) and it will be ready to use again. The wife and I keep one in both our cars as we normally clean our glasses while sitting in traffic on the way to work.

    Hope that helps

    That'll do

Hi and welcome, I will certainly grab one or two of those next time I go shopping.

    Cheers mrsswordfisherman

  15. G'Day all, have been reading this board for a little while now and decided to register. The willingness to share a little knowledge and help out folks who share the same passion is what convinced me to be a part of this board. I too, am a frustrated landbased fisho who is always looking for a good spot, and someone to wet a line with. I really look forward to meeting a lot of you and catching (and releasing) a truckload of fish!! Good luck to you Maniac, I look forward to seeing how you go!

    Rick.

A big :1welcomeani: to you Rick. We hope you enjoy the forums and look forward to reading about your fishing adventures too. Take a look at our social weekend details, perhaps you would like to join us.
