Ah clutch you are at a distinct disadvantage being over in Kiwiland
. Crocs are a brand of shoes that are worn by the most discerning fishermen and women . They are an excellent boating shoe that stop you from slipping on those nasty boat ramps. They are very comfortable to wear and I own a few pairs in different colours.Check em out below

Howdy all'
Swordfisherman was on the hop as usual to go for a fish today. We were to go to Macquarie Rivulet at Lake Illawarra but we heard that the lake was closed. We decided to go to (you guessed it
), bloody old Chippo Lakes!We arrived at the ramp about 7.30am, yes I stuffed around and made us late, swordie was jumping around at sparrows fart 5am ready to go.
We whacked the poly into the river and out came the pink Smilin' Jacks again for a bit of a troll. Two seconds later I caught a fish and then a second. Swordie took up the challenge at 2 nil and of course well overtook me by the end of the day.
I selected a few cd's to play as we fished, some oldies for a change. The Skyhooks song Smut was blasting away and swordie and I were singing about the twisties and what was in the bag
and a lady of similar age was pushing a pram along the bridge and waved knowingly at us . Just as we went past the Warwick Farm Road bridge, I was casting along the bank trying for a few more bream, when I said to swordie "I think I am snagged" ZZZZZZZZZZ woohoo this snag is moving
. After a few tentative moments and Stewy trying to knock my fish off with the environet trying to keep the score even , I landed a pb flathead of 56cms. Atfer a quick measure, Stewy says "now put this rag around your thumb and shove it in its mouth".
. The bloody thing clamps down on my thumb and bites me, and Stewy is screaming at me to hold it still for the picture . Check out the grimace in the pic below.Although the bream were small we had a great time casting to the structure and landing a heap of fish. I also got a pb Silver Biddy today as well.
On the way back towards the bridge, a guy and 2 young boys were fishing out of a tinnie. The man yells out "Stewy isnt it"? We motored closer and he introduced himself as a raider by the name of george s. See raiders are everywhere! We chatted with George and his boys for a while and left to go home. Nice to meet you George and your sons.
PS: Note to self - BUY THE BLOODY BOGA GRIPS ASAP

Hi all, thought I would start up this thread for members to get to know each other a little. We have had so many new members in the last few months and its interesting to know where we all come from.
I am mrsswordfisherman aka Donna and have the honour of being one of 2 female members on this site
. I am a moderator on this site and visit daily to read about the experiences of members. I am pushing 50 ( but sometimes act like a 20 yr old 
) and am the partner of swordfisherman aka Stewy.
I am a mother of 2 beautiful and smart daughters. A Registered Nurse involved with Nurse Education/OH&S, I enjoy trivia, fishing, the arts, 10 pin bowling and online card tournament directing and competing (cribbage, canasta, euchre etc.)
I have only been fishing for a year or two but I am learning real fast and have a great mentor in swordfisherman. My catches are not that notable but all caught on sp's. In fact I have never used live bait and have literally "grown up" on these plastic wonders. Best so far is a bass of 52 cms and a pb flattie of 56 cms. I enjoy reading the posts from members and learn something every day. We can be seen around the Sydney waterways in our teal coloured Polycraft boat, give us a wave if you see us.

ADDIT: A few months after I posted the above in 2006 I became one of the 3 owners of fishraider.
I am the only female owner of a fishing website in Australia I believe. Now, 12 months on, there are now many, many more then 2 female members, women who like to fish and join in with their hubbys, sons, dads etc.... are now regular contributors to this site.
Our aim is to have the forum evolve into a place where women, young folk and men can share their fishing experiences from beginners to the more experienced. A website that is informative, educational and enjoyable with offline activity such as socials, workshops and lots more.
