  3. When i first started fishing i was using reel on the right, but then some one showed me reel on the left and its just soo much better when you have the strong hand controlling the rod... i dont know why the do in the shops but?
  4. HAHA what an idiot when was this taken?
  5. Im sure the boat would be capable of going out there. But you have to be sure that you are capable of going out there. When you are 9kms off shore and a bad storm comes up it will take you a long time of battering through big waves to get back in, so you and your boat have to be up to that. I have talked to guys in 4.3 m tinnys with 30 hp that have gone to the shelf You should probably just work up to it by going a little further offshore every time you go out. And the most important thing is to make sure you have all the neccesary safety gear! Harry
  6. I wasnt quite sure if it was you or not so didnt come over and say G'day You guys certainly know how to fish that area i saw you hookup around 5 times and i hadnt hooked up once. 14. Hey Raiders, Got bored at home today so i decide i would go for a quick flick in Iron cove. It was half tide and the tide was running out (i find this the most productive time to fish). I tied my new pencil on, Jazz Zappa In Lemon Tiger. Took me a few casts to get the walk the dog action right but once i got it right the bream couldnt resist it. Every second or third cast i would get a strike. About ten casts later i hooked up, didnt fight to well compared to the other bream i have caught but was still exhilirating watching the bream smash the pencil off the surface . It went 24cm and i released it. After this fish i hooked up 5 others but i pulled the hooks on all of them and i was using super light drag. I spose this is just what happens when using surface walkers. Now im hooked on surface lures and ill be back to the tackle shop to get a couple more pencils Harry
  15. No problems Jewgaffer, The smaller one in the photo is actually the larger one, it collapses for easy storage Harry
  16. I think these traps are the things your mate is talking about They are made by alvey and around 20 dollars at most tackle shops Harry
  17. What a haul of hoodies top work
  18. Only a guess but i think you would need to have an onboard fresh water tank or something. Or the other option is to flush it at rose bay wharf then drive it back to the mooring, but that would still put salt back in the engine. Harry
  19. When i was away on holidays at Byron Bay i borrowed my uncles spinnig stick and went for a spin with metals off the rocks. Caught a bonito and a couple of tailor! I enjoyed this type of fishing so im looking into buying a combo. I want the total price to be under 350 if possible. And ive read that a 6 to 1 ratio is a must for spinning. The rod will also have be 2 piece and around 10ft 6" because im not that tall or strong Also would this type of combo be suitable for a beach rod? Thanks Harry
