  5. Morning Fellow raiders. Not much to report except a couple of whales, a few dolphins and a mutton bird that decided to take the shotgun lure. Spent 8 hours trawling from outside pittwater along the shelf south and back for zip. Good to be out however. Next time I hope Still chasing the first one for us. Matt
  6. Thanks all for the advice. Not much to report except that we spent the day working the water for a duck. Found one school of yellow fin south of browns and worked the area for 10 mins or so and then they were gone. Was awesome just to be out there.
  7. Thank heaps for the advice guys. I have read almost every report and tips on the site. World of knowledge this place is. Got the gear, gaff and harness ect. A good driverim unsure but I guess I will find out on Sunday.
  8. Hi raiders, Last week the boss asked me to load him up of fishing gear. He wants to chase tuna and Marlin. Spent a load of money ( not mine ). Stella 30000 on t-curve jig rod, 2 x tiagra 50w matched with tiagra t-curve rods. Line and lures. Leaving from Pittwater on Sunday morning the thoughts are to find some live bait, head out to the shelf and troll either side of the shelf possibly down to browns. If we find the action work the area if not we will be cubing once we stop. Being the first time going after these magnificent creatures I am wondering if anyone has any advice on do's and don'ts and where to fish in the big blue ocean. I have fished since I was a boy but on bread and butter fish as well as chasing kings. I have spent hours on hours over the years reading and watching on how to catch game fish as this has always been a dream of mine but I am pretty sure with 2 novices all this will go out the door. Any advice at all wheather that is where to try, lure colours working, gps coordinents, radio channels or the like would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully this will be the first trip of many. I need to get the boss onto one of these fish so he can catch the fishing bug we all have. Have a great weekend all and hopefully hear or see you guys on the sea. Matt
  9. Hi Live in Quakers Hill. Can meet at your place as I have transport. Happy to share expenses. I mainly fishig landbased but I know my way round a boat.
  10. got a spot on a boat for me lol?
  11. Hi Let me know if you are still looking for an extra. Matt
  12. There is a car park there west side of the bridge. You need to come from the north side and you do a loop under the bridge. There is a park there and parking. Can get busy but you should be ok. If I am free when you want to go I am happy to show you and have a fish with you.
  13. After suffering with the flu for over a week I had the with the kids and the . To much noise for me to relax, so I grabbed the gear and headed down to Linley Point for a land based fish. Was not expecting to much just wanted to get out of the house. After 30 mins or so I had a decent run as i am a lazy fisherman and like to let the rod and drag do the work. In comes in a 33cm Trevally. Interesting I thought this far up the harbour. 30 mins later a big run and more fun on light gear a 45cm Trevally is in. This fish created a little activity around as everyone could see the rod bent and the line peeling as I wanted to play it right. So as I am fighting the fish a family decided to set there gear up on my table and cast out at the very same spot I am in. I thought there was a thing called fishing edicate. Little did they know I had planned this to be my last cast as I was feeling like crap and if they had been a little patient I would have offered them my spot. So I now decide to stay just to get a little pay back. 30 mins later another Trevally at 36cm. Time to go these guys are really peeing me off and I do not feel well enough to put up with it any longer. One day I will get a boat. So the harbour and rivers are live n well. Good to see quality fish around. P.S they did not ctach anything apart from an under side bream and you guessed it they kept it. I will try and post the pics when I can get the damn iphone to upload them. Cheers
  14. Try Marks point drop off for bream and flatty. Pillies work a treat. If you like to flick then try around the islands near there. Marks point drop off is where the channel opens in to the lake. I have heard of king fish been caught at Swansea bridge. The channel drifts well for flatties.

  16. Well done Mate. The elusive Jew as they call it and I am sure we all know why it's call that. Haven't caught one in Sydney but have bagged a few out of Newcastle harbour. Biggest bein 113cm. Planning a all nighter up there in a few weeks if anyone is interested. Happy to share my tips and spot.
  17. Wish the Mrs would let me buy a boat

  18. Hi mate, if you are looking for a good rock platform up the coast a little, try a place called Snapper Point which is about 10 mins south of Swansea. It is located in Munmorah National Park. Have always taken home a Salmon or 2 from there. Ganged pilles are the go and you can either bottom bash or use a float.
