  1. Mate that is one cracking fish!!!!!!!!! Cheers Kriso
  2. Hey Mate What about a smooth golden puffer fish or i call them a giant toad fish. Kriso
  3. Had one of the best days in a long time yesterday with bait flowing quickly 10 live squid ,3 fresh from a previous trip , 15 yakkas and a pike which have been fishing well for me lately. I started DR inside loosing 2 squid to pickers but managed to get one hood back to be stripped up, while downrigging had a few casts at the tailor schools that seem to be everywhere at the moment landing about 4 around 350mm. There was a lot of boats around so decided to look outside the heads at a spot which has produced in the past, first pass the yakka on the surface and the stripped up hood on the DR went off at the same time, 800mm on the yakka and an under on the squid. I went back for another pass and for the next hour or two the DR didn't stop , landing a fish every pass with only one very big smoking until the squid ran out. Ended up giving my last squid and a few yakkas to a father and son that only had pillies so his son could get in on the action, hope you guys got one!!!! I have to say how impressed I am with the durability of 80lb black magic tough fluorocarbon I have only been using it for about a month and it is better than anything else I have used hands down, I think I would have lost at least half these kings with another trace . Total King Count 1- under 1- 750mm 6- 800-880mm 2-920mm 1-940mm 1-1060mm The big guy had this piercing in his mouth, The line looked to be 100-120 lb and hook had nearly rusted through. Cheers Kriso
  4. Hey mate.... Samsons taste very similar and I think pound for pound fight slightly better than the kingy's. Sounds like your in the right areas just take the extra time to get the live baits and the kings will follow. Don't be scared to put on big baits either. A couple of days ago I had 870 and 820mm kings inhale slow trolled 520 and 440 mm pike which were aimed at bigger fish and i don't have to tell you big kingy's big live squid. Good Luck with the your first you won't forget it. Cheers Kriso
  5. Sounds like a great day out. Can I as how heavy your leader and main line was. Cheers kriso

  11. Hey Adam I gave it a go but couldn't find the bolders water was very dirty, ended up in yarra bay. I'll be out there tomorrow as well with my little brother, got all the kings today going back and forth from where i got that 920mm one to where you got your one out the front and the bigger ones were all taking it high - 4m to the surface. See you out there tomorrow. Cheers Kriso

  13. Nice fish , got to love the Gummy, great eating fish my mouth watering thinking about it. Good on you for letting it go. I love it down that way !! Were you far from shore ? Kriso
  14. Hi Guys Made it on the water at 5am, off to cast poppers and sluggos at a few markers, loads of follows all really small fish but alas no hookups. Filled up on yakkers in no time flat and then of for a squid but it was the lower part of the incoming and a little bit dirtier than a couple of days ago, so no squid. Headed out around the heads double stacked downrigger and one on the surface sounding fairly regular kingie stacks on the way, Not long before all three rods go off in unison, first rod I picked up has a good fish on the end but about a minute into the fight he puts on the gas and I get smoked, the other two landed in quick time and both undersize. I kept going over the area now with only two rods and king after king came in with two more good smoking's in between. It got to the point where the yakkers where getting smashed before I had a chance to set up the other rod. A couple of guys who were bait fishing came and asked what I was catching as they must of seen the mayhem, so I gave them a few yakkers(Hope they came up trumps). Headed in because I ran out of yakkers, all in all I reckon that I landed 16-17 kingies today and back at the ramp by 10:30. Ended up with 1 keeper 750mm It was a cracking day out there hope everyone else did well !! Cheers Kriso
  15. No Mate i wish i landed it on the stella, 50lb Braid on another rod. See ya out there!!
