  1. If I have time to rig up before I get on the water I'll use the.PR knot for my leader knot then the ag chain knot to my solid ring When on the water and in a rush I'll just use the midknot for my leader knot and then a uni knot for my terminal tackle For my light stuff a slim beauty and a uni knot does the job
  2. 30lb is way too light you want atleast 80lb and a overhead would be a better option my deep jigging outfit is a JM PE10 reel and it holds over 650mtrs of 80lb a spin reel like the stella 20k would do the job but you would either need to be using very thin braid or upgrade your spool to one of the new JM spools that hold more line
  3. Sounds like a broken fuel pump diaphragm Would explain why the motor only runs with high revs and dies when the revs drop Just a guess tho wait for Huey to give his advise
  4. a decent set of rod riggers will cost you $200 a full set of outriggers with bases from Gary (Brickman) will cost your $400 i would be getting the outriggers ova rod riggers any day you want your lures in the clean water and as magoo said the rodriggers wont do this give Gary a call the seafarer deserves the outriggers
  5. Looks like electrical interference Looks like you had the motor in gear until you drifted over the mark and then the lines vanish once you have put the motor into neutral Check the routing of your cabling for the Sounder and make sure it doesn't run along side the cabling for the motor as it causes interference
  6. nice rig mate interesting to see how you find the new ray marine sounder they sound pretty good i like the idea of being able to link the plotter on your mobile to the one of the boat so u plan trips on your phone and then export it to the sounder gotta love the new tec coming out these days
  7. if you have alot of noise on your sounder i would be looking at your install make sure the transducer is in nice clean water and check the routing of the cables as they can suffer from electrical interference
  8. Lots of rats and jackets out there from what ive heard Im heading north

  14. Yeah we got a few :-) We didn't venture out too far only about 10km We left about ten min after u arrived but i don't have outriggers on the boat My aerials looks like outriggers I guess Can't wait to get out there this weekend and chase Mr beakie
  15. Nice work mate I was catching lives next to you at west head I was in the seafarer with 2 on board We pushed out the heads and jigged some of the outer wrecks then came back later in the day to soak the livies for a Jew
  16. If the hull is sealed I wouldn't be cutting holes in it Just get 2 large bilge pumps for your bilge and your done With the boat being a half cabin i cant imagine you actually getting much water on the deck in the first place
  17. If you want to catch kings in pittwater you need to ditch the yakkas and just use live squid
  18. Well done looks like a great trip Tobes is a great skipper Hope he had his fine selection of music cranking for u ha

  21. i would take the salina ova the saltist saltist is too heavy to be holding and fishing with all day salina are nice reels
  22. keep you eye out for the next video these kings are just the warm up to last weekends footage
  23. yes there is a bar you need to cross at times its very timid but the water can be very shallow and unless you no what your doing it can be quite tricky last weekend we had to pull up anchor and wait for the tide to change before we could cross it as it was just too shallow to enter
  24. yeah that fish i hook up first is the 1mtr fish no match for the JM its a 200gm three kings with a JM PE4 with a 300gm williamson bethos jig i normally use a 150 powerspell but we had some good markings on the sounder so didnt want to get blown away by a monster last weekends trip had us do battle with a better class of fish ill put up a post of that in a bit
  25. been a while since ive put up a post so i will post some our of recent trips this one is a few weeks old ill put up last weekends trip later on today we left home nice and early and got up to SWR about 07:00am. We grabbed some livies at the bait grounds but they were forgotten about as the jigs were all we needed. First drop. Double hook up. Next drift. Triple hook up. It continued till just after lunch time when decided to pull the pin. With 3 each on ice for the table and everyone’s fatigue setting in, we decided to head back. We left with the Kings balled up and headed off to see if we could jag a marlin on the way in. Put out the spread in 23deg water, did about 2 hours worth. No luck though. Nice drive back to Sydney arriving at midnight. Mission successful. all fish caught on jigs and fish ranged from around 85-100cms here is a little video of the days action
