  1. Mackerel Tuna: Most but not all have one to nine, and sometimes even more, small black spots or blotches between the pelvic fin and the pectoral fin. They can also be distinguished from the Frigate Mackerel by the lack of space between the two dorsal fins, the Mackerel Tunas first dorsal fin extends nearly all the way to the second dorsal fin where as the Frigate Mackerel's first dorsal fin is distinctly separate from the second dorsal fin. Here's a link to a fishing story I recently found in the Macleay Argus (Kempsey): http://kempsey.yourguide.com.au/news/local...ch/1422950.aspx The article calls the fish a Perch but that's a common name for the Australian Bass up there. I'm not sure if this incident happened above or below the rapids but Bull Sharks have been seen many times in freshwater above the rapids on the Macleay River.
