We normally deep fried Pike and it goes down quite good with the drink of your choice .

I fish for them in the local river. I would berley up using bread or corn right in front of me, then roll a piece of bread into a ball over a small hook that's attached to the main line. I normally just drop the bait about 1 meter in front of me as the carp will swim right up to eat the berley.

Toongabbie Creek has quite a lot of large carp in it too if you are willing to travel upstream from the Para River

Clifton Gardens is a top spot. It does get crowded though.

Quite an ugly looking fish isn't it? My friend's gf didn't like the look of them too much. So back in the drink they went. I might try eating one the next time I catch one. Tks Stewy!

Hi all, My friend locodave (top bloke) took me out fishing on the Hawkesbury on the weekend. Tks locodave for the trip. It was a great day out on the water. We caught a couple of rock cods. These were some scary looking fish, they were a bright red and had spikes around the head. Now I was just wondering if these rock rods are edible? Is there a legal size limit to them? Any help will be much appreciated.

Hi guys, Just wondering if anyone could offer any advice on a land based squiding spot in Sydney that prodeces consistently. I bought 2 squid lures recently and wasn't sure where to go to try for some squid. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

We fish close to the mouth of the river.

Went to the Lane Cove river with my dad on Sunday afternoon for a bit of fishing. We were using whole pilchards but we couldn't tempt any decent sized fish. All fish caught were under sized and thrown back. Although we didn't get anything big it was still a good way to spend the afternoon.
