Penguin
Hi fellow raiders, My mate Bill and I fished Botany Bay today, launched boat at Penrhyn ramp 7am, tried the Sticks for no fish, tried the oil wharf,no fish.Went ova to airport runway just on 8.30,ran into Crazy John there with our mate Mark ,they had been there since 6am for zilch. We anchored 20mtres to one side of them and proceeded to burley in tandem, almost emmediatly both boats started to land Trevors one after another with the odd Bream thrown in for good measure,30 mins of this and we start to see Kings following our baits to the boats, then zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Bills rod goes off and 10 mins later he lands his 1st King for the day.For the next 3hrs we continued to land Trevors,Bream,Taylor and 7 kings. We all got busted off on many, many occasions, either by being wrapped around anchor ropes, bouys or by the sheer power some of these Kings possesed.I think we only managed to land the small ones, bcoz we saw some monsters 80cm plus, and from what I saw there were several bust offs on Crazy Johns boat, with some Kings landed.I tried heavier line, but nothing would touch it,so back to the 6kg mono and bang, another King on my 1st cast. Current changed direction, and the bite slowed rite down, only Trevors were being caught and we got sick of catchin em and turfin em back in,so Bill and I called it a day,and left Crazy John and Mark out there. All Kings hooked on peeled prawns and some on Pillie tails. Kings landed went from 62-73cm Edited May 9, 2006 by penguin

abiasin
Man wat a post, i glad to hear the Kingies are still around, i thought they were all gone. Last saturday my bro a mate and i went and hit mol point with livies, big squid, pillies and prawns but no sign of kings. (admittedly we got there about 2:30pm and fished till about 6pm). Plenty of trevs and mackrel tuna about tho and also a couple of cowanyoung. Definately got to hit the bay this sunday with the bro before our mothers day bbq, or better still move the bbq to la perouse lol. cheers and well done again on the KINGIES. One more cast
That's the best catch I have seen out of the bay in a long time. Excellent effort. Great to see the bay firing with good fish almost constantly now. Can't wait to get out there myself. Great day. Well done on the kingies.
