Penguin Posted May 17, 2006 Share Posted May 17, 2006 (edited) Hi Raiders, Fished the bay today with 2 mates,went to airport runway 1st,only got a few Trevs,shifted to container wall and got more Trevs,and a 48cm Tailor,after awhile went over to the Drums,caught more Trevs and 7 Bream to 37cm.While at the Drums saw Kingys following our baits back to the boat on several occasions, between us we had 6 good runs on peeled prawns,and also on whole squid suspended under a float,and got 5 bust offs,and 1 pulled hook as we were about to net a King at the boat.Tried a soft plastic for the 1st time,and saw King after King following it up but no takers,was very frustrating as I could almost reach out and touch em.George caught a Gurnard and thought it was poisoness so he refused to touch it,so Bill says thank you very much and swipes it off the hook and into his esky.George did a song and dance when told they are edible,and can be bought at the fish shop. Went back to airport runway and got more Trevs and 7 undersize Snapper 27-29cm.Pulled up a King on our anchor rope as it had snagged another fisho who was fishing in another boat beside us,George had it by the tail and had lifted it out of the water when it gave one last kick and,plonk,he had the dumbest most embarresed look on his face as he was appologising to the other fisho.He said no worries thanx anyway fellas,and left.After catchin and releasing a few more Trevs and Snapper we called it a day. penguin.
