Botany Bay Friday 26/5/06

Hi Raiders,

Fished Botany bay Friday, late start 9.30am,3rd runway 1st for some Trevors,

and 1 Bream, then went to Moll pt for more Trevs one going 40cm,and one

Bream 38cm and very fat.

Went over to the Drums in an effort to find some protection from the wind,

was reasonably calm due to the fact an oil ship was moored there acting as a

wind break.Set the anchor and proceeded to fish and burley, and almost

immediately Slimeys were being landed on peeled prawns, then it went quite

for a moment, and then the water around us just erupted,Slimeys were gettin

airborne, something was after them.I put out a livey as fast as I could, then

zzzzzzzzz the reel screams,I grab the rod and start winding, what eva it was

took my line towards the floating drums, then I feel my line rubbing against

the huge chain beneath the drums and snap.I am in the middle of re rigging

when I look over my shoulder and see one of those great big ugly Botany bay

tug boats pull up nearby, and some big ugly bloke standing on the bow yells to

us,that we have to move away bcoz they are about to untie the ship and its

about to leave. We begrudgingly did as we were asked and went back to Moll pt,

for another couple of Trevs.

Total catch for the day,11 Trevs,2 Bream and half doz Slimeys.

Called it a day around 1.30pm as it was getting too difficult to fish in the strong

southerly wind, and the very strong current. We found it hard just trying to get

the anchor to grab and stay put while we fished.

My 4yr old & 38cm Bream,and 40cm Trevally

i guess im lucky i didnt go

to the bay that day , not that i didnt wanna come , just too busy with renovations

still good to see that u went home a well enough feed considering how the winds were

:fisher:

Jono I dont think u would have lasted very long out there, from what I've seen

from your crew in the past, :puke::puke::puke::puke:

but it would of been funny if you had come along though,

hows your esky after your last adventure, have you had the urge to use it? :05:

I hope you can make it out with us next time.
