keenas
G'day raiders. Headed out from rosie ramp 6am, straight to balmoral for livies, no yakkas but heaps of blurders about a 1lb, kept 2 for strip bait. Went over to the island managed 1 squid. Anchored of bluefish in about 40mtrs, very weak current pushing south, wind was sw at about 10knots,pretty slow morning with wrasse and more blurders in bursts. Caught 4 squid on a jig rigged on a paternoster, even fresh squid could'nt entice a redi, however a school of kings came through at about 10 causing absolute mayhem. Managed to land 2 65-70cms even on 8kg line they stretch the arms.On the way home saw a school of salmon between bluefish and north head in that littie bay ,good to see no - one harrassing them for a change. still a top day on the water. keenas
sorry guys no photos, i like a splash of red in my shots, but they just were'nt there today. The water temp was 18.5 pretty unusual for this time of year, the kingies just did a hit and run on me and were gone in 10mins. mako1
Great winter kings Keenas Hopefully the currents stay weak and the sweep and jackets ease off so some floaters can be set out for some bigger snapper.

Osprey Rider
G'day raiders, Its good to see you getting into the winter Kings mate. I beleive with the fish traps being outlawed and the introduction of SOME restricted fishing areas it has allowed the kingies and other species to grow and giving them protection and cover possibly helping their reproductive cycle (allowing the young to grow in areas which aren't fished.) Catch yus later.
