woftam
G'day Raiders, The missus is on my case to go for a fish as she doesn't get to come along with the mates. we are going on sunday the 27th if other members want to show up thats cool always good to put faces with names and i'm happy to receive constructive critisism. After a very sad effort at cooks near the old boat ramp last week due to her seeing a rat and not getting a single bite, i need help as to where to go so even the the very 1st (2nd) timers can go to catch something and make a somewhat of enjoyable ride home. I fish quite often at Cooks and around the Georges River and Chippo Lakes both in a boat and on land, most recent a cooks for a few outings but nothing worth mentioning has surfaced. Must be land based this time, and not to far as if we don't catch anything i don't want to hear how sh1t the day was all the way home ie: i live in Campbelltown and don't want to goto Avalon. Hen & Chicken Bay, Hunters hill, Spit area, Brighton, wollongong all ok even if there is a toad fish to be caught i want it on the end of her rod to see a smile. I use sp's but even if i have to buy the dreaded bait i will. cheers.

Thanks i think it was the rat the did it, bigger than the bream that i caught. I was there at the grand final, me and my mate surrounded by cowboy supporters there was no better feeling than sticking it to them.
mrsswordfisherman
to Fishraider woftam (great nick btw ) Very nice to see that you are taking the missus for a fish . Wherever you go make it a little special so you don't get the "dreaded ride home". Its easy to incorporate a little romance into the fishing trip, break for a nice lunch, spend the time chatting and enjoying each other's company. Don't ignore her of make fun of her fishing technique and you may find a great fishing buddy in her. Have a great day out and can't wait for your report Perhaps she might like to join up on Fishraider, we are a bit short on women members!!!! Cheers mrsswordfisherman
woftam
Thanks quinfish but lion island is a bit far up for this sunday, i have another engagement in the evening and would not leave much time to fish but maybe anothertime cheers Thanks mrsswordfisherman funny enough the name comes from a boat i saw years ago. Whats this romance you speak of i'm a white australian male between the ages of 18 -35 romance is not exactly a second language to me but i'll give it a go. I wouldn't dare think of making fun otherwise it will be a worse ride home if she were to catch a bigger fish. but we will see how she likes it then she may sign up and get some tips aswell. Cheers. davester28
Yeah poor effort yesterday totaling 0 fish Bad luck mate. The tides weren't great this weekend. Next weekend should be better - there's a high tide close to sunset. Try the spots you already mentioned, including H&C Bay and Iron Cove. Fish the flats on high tide and you should be sweet. Yaulpang
Gutsy effort, well done for trying. My attempt at taking a girl fishing ended with me administering first aid to an oyster cut hand and lending cargo shorts due to "fall on bum". That didn't help things at all, so cheer up, at least you kept her uninjured! Paul
