post-2189-1160474265_thumb.jpgG'day Raiders;

Launched at Roseville at 6.00am.

Groundhog day with the yakkas, tried Balmoral, quarantine,and the gasworks for squat.

Trolled from old mans hat to the middle of nth head for the same; diddley.

The salmon are still there but have broken into a couple of schools fairly spread out.

Anchored up at the old faithful and started berleying and floating baits down a pretty

weak east pushing current, there was a bit of slime in the water although it was

coming through at different depths.After about 1hr the paternoster line got hit

but i dropped it midwater, think it was a mowie. With hi- tide at 10.15 i thought

i would just hang out and keep berleying, so between 8-11 i'd had 1 hit and

lost only 4 baits :thumbdown: did manage to see a whale and calf heading

nth then sth 1hr later,also 2 dolphins jumping out the back. About 11.15

i smashed mid water and boated my first fish of the day a red of1kg,on

a half pillie.Then at midday got monstered by a larger fish which took line

heading for the bottom,eased the drag a touch turned the fish and boated

a great red of 3.4kg.The sweep moved in so i headed home.Fishing for me

in the last month or so has been very slow, with patience sratching together a

feed.Expecting better results considering the conditions and time of year. CHEERS MICHAEL.
