insolent
Back from holidays and back on the computer to relieve the work day. Fished Rose Bay wharf last week and only picked up a largish puffer fish, although my mate caught a few undersize snapper and a legal size bream. There were still lots of little leather jackets around by the looks of my bait. I threw a bit of thoroughly munched squid into the water and then watched 10-15 Kingies shadow the bait into the depths, they wouldn't have a bar of the squid but it was a few days old. We couldn't tempt any bait fish to congregate either (probably because there were a shitload of kingies sitting under the wharf) as soon as the sun fully rose they disappeared. Pity we couldn't get them to bite but nice to see them in numbers already, the largest were probably just over the 60cm mark although it was a bit hard to tell, given how quick they grow they will all be legal before long. Cheers Evil They fight like an old boot but aren't as usefull Edited October 25, 2006 by Evil

Guest IFishSick.
If only that puffer was a nice little yellowtail you could have gone for the Kingies.
insolent
I thought I caught a clump of weed, at least it had the decency to bite itself off the leader instead of me having to cut it off they always seem to swallow the hook.

Penguin
Mate I was down at Rose Bay wharf pre dawn monday, was trying to get some squid or yakkas, there was nothing around except a stupid little Puffer fish, and a whopping big Stingray that wouldnt go away,he made me a little uneasy everytime he swam by,so I gave up and went home, penguin
Martin
Not a winner in the looks department for the puffer fish Sorry the kings would not cooperate, however next trip I am sure you will be better armed with fresh squid or a livie or two. Good luck Cheers Martin
