deadwood doyen
Hi all, Here goes my first post. Been reading the reports and posts on and off for about a month, you guys seem to be a great bunch. I fish from my 5m 1/2 cab (when I am allowed) usually around Pittwater / Broken bay area. I have had mixed success over about 12 months. Highlights are some good size bream and flatty from Flint n Steel, but not much luck when conditions allowed a wider search. Only one ore two salmon last summer. Normally using weighted or unweighted pillies and squid anchoured up and on the drift. Can anyone assist with recommending some spots or tips for this area for Kings as the wife is beginning to doubt that I am going out at all............... Planning a venture for saturday (I cant get to the social!) hope u guys can help. cheers
lighthouse2k
Go and buy what thas DVD. There is plenty information on there to get yourself out of trouble. A downrigger and fresh bait will get you a long way. Downrigging yakka's around headlands is always a good thing if bait schools are a little deeper as well. Downriggers will definately get you fish. I troll rocky coastline at 1 to 2 knots, have one yakka down deep on the downrigger, 1 yakka on top. Top one will often bring them up, if they won't take the yakka, just throw a raider or a sluggo at them and there is a good chance you will be away. You will also need polarized lenses otherwise you will never see them. Sometimes there is a whole school following your yakka/slimey! So far I have got the bigger kings off the downrigger. Chris G'day deadwood doyen Like you , I fish Broken bay and Pit water when even the allows, As Chirs mention, B/bay Pittwater is a lot of water to cover, my suggestion is look back one what the Raiders member have posted in regards to this area, there is allot you can learn from reading reports from fellow raiders, Keep on it and ur on the right track. PS: I to troll for kings with live Yakka and squid, only deferens , I don't have a down rigger, I get the bait down deep by using a running sinker set up, a heavy sinker then a swivel then about one and a half meter trace, troll at about 1-2 knots, have deferens Wight on two rods, that way you know how deep the fish are. it works for me ! Hope that helps see you on the water! Cheers Dave Edited January 18, 2007 by predator
deadwood doyen
Thanks for that. I will be out there Saturday morning - launching at Brooklyn. Hopefully I will get a result from some fresh baits. Cheers Rob
