Penguin Posted February 10, 2007 Share Posted February 10, 2007 (edited) Hi raiders, Took the boat out for a run on the harbour today 6am. Cruised around a bit 1st looking for feeding birds,didnt locate any,very disapointing. We decided to go over to Clifton for a quiet fish. The fishing was quiet,but we persevered. Netic and downrigger came over for a bit and we had a bit of a gasbag(Crazy John I bet ur ears were burning today mate,was all good though so dont panic.). Netic showed us his Kings,and made us look like poor fishermen to the female fishos we had with us, they wanted to jump ship and go with Netic coz they wanted to catch kings too.(thanks mate ) After this we boys were determined to not be out done, and tried everything we knew.Another mate of ours came by in his boat and flashes us another King.I could of killed him,anyway he kindly gave us a couple of livies,and we set one out under a float. 30 mins or so later I see my float get yanked and dive, My mate Bill is closest to the rod and grabs it and strikes, zzzzzzzzzzzzzz he's on,after a short fight he has a beautiful King at the side of the boat,and another one swimming in circles below it at speed.I throw an un-weighted prawn in, and zzzzzzzzzzzzzz he takes it,im on.Bill lands his fish and I land mine after about 3-4mins. Woohoo 2 from 2,and now we no longer look like poor fishermen to our female guests. That was it for the morning apart from some small Flatties and Snapper the girls got. Yeh it sucks how theres girls around and u dont catch anything lol they'll think fishing is boring and they wont go wif u next time >_< thats wat i always fear haha. You come up with the goods, good sized Kings as well. Once again the Penguin prawn does the trick, well done. Being the nosy bugger that I am, when you say livies, did you use squid or yakka?
