trentski
I am heading out for a trip on Easter Sunday morning in Sydney Harbour with my brother in law and I really don't know the spots. I normally fish the Hacking and Botany. Can anyone tell me of some good squid grounds around Rose Bay or near there that I can try. Also, does anyone know what the Rose Bay boat ramp is like? huntman
Rose bay ramp is meant to be really good, but it's popular :\ Easter sunday might mean big waiting times.
Thunder
Rose Bay ramp is good. It has 2 lanes and is sheltered from the wind. It is deep and the jetty is right next to the ramp. There is plenty of parking and there are toilet facilities. There are no fish cleaning facilities though. The ferry wharf is also there, so later in the day when the ferries are operating and if there are lots of boats waiting to get in it can be tricky finding a spot to park the boat while you are getting the car. If it's a fibreglass boat, make sure you have some large inflatable buffers to stop the boat hitting the wharf, especially when the ferries are coming and going as it can rub the boat against the jetty. If you drop someone off to fetch the car, you can just motor away from the area until its your turn. Ive been told you can get squid and yakkas around the wharf at Rosebay, but I haven't tried yet.
