Maybe your on to something there or maybe I am just a bad squidder (likely ) as I have converted to a light spin outfit loaded with 6lb braid and lost a lot more than on the mono. I am running a couple of metres of mono leader on the braid. I'd be interested in what some of the other squidders thoughts are as I don't really consider myself a "gun" squidder. Trent

Hi, I bought the 600W Airmax Triducer with the Furuno 620 (due to budget restrictions) and it has been great, although I don't go offshore. If you really want to get the best use from your sounder you can get the High Definition transducers, they are going to cost you alot but the results should be outstanding. I think most of these come thru-hull though. Trent

They were planning on upgrading the fish ladder there so if they do that it will help the bass population. I don't know what they are like on the freshwater side but you can get the odd EP on the saltwater side. Trent

Has anyone got the Furuno FCV-620? It turns out to be alot cheaper if you get that model but I was wondering what the loss of quality would be like.
