arpie Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 The first time they give you a nip, it surprises you more than anything!! Never drawn blood &never will! They have little 'nippers' rather than teeth, so like Davy says, more like a pinch! To them, you are just another bit of protein! Then again, it could have something to do with them having a large headache after being grabbed by the head with pliers & pulled unceremoniously out of their cosy home & shoved into a plastic bucket! If someone did that to me, I'd probably bite them too!! Polyrandom, If you can use your hands, go for it - less damage to the worm & they stay alive better. Have you caught any at all yet (hands or pliers?) Nice photo of a very nice worm, Kiwi Waynie!! Next time I go to NZ, I want to see if I can raise some over there!!! Cheers Roberta
