going out on a boat finally on thursday this week. any advice on the haksbury especially after all this rain? some people are telling me its great time after the heavy rain to fish and some people telling me to much fresh water is bad fishing????????

Fish deep holes... make sure you have a sounder and go exploring. Fish seem to concentrate in the deeper parts due to fresh water sittig on top of the salt. Give cowan a try. Goodluck.

There should be plenty of bream and flathead in the lower reaches especially with the smaller tides

at the moment. Flint & Steel could produce large jewfish. Chicken gut will be the best bait for

bream.

i'd chase bream in places like the vines, pumkin point and bar point. using

a very smelly bait which is needed as there is very little visual under the water.

but the rain will definately put fish onto the bite as lots of food gets washed

into the water and fish come onto the bite.

Didnt loose a single bait to fish yesterday - plenty of slalomn boating aroung the huge trees though

stinky rank bait is definately the go!

zenman and i hit the beach last night. had fresh squid, mullet and stinky pillies ... you guessed it, servo pillies went off.

nothing to write home about but pillies were smashed as they hit the water.

got a few good bites taken out of them by what looked like large tailor but no hook ups.

ah well, live to fight another day i guess!

thanks all. unfortunately the boat owner cancelled last week due to the wind and weather. looking at this week going out. will let know how we go.
