robeebee
Dad and I got to Parsley Bay at around 6.15 am motored straight to Juno pt and looked for some holes found a jewy looking hole and anchored riigged up my overhead and roller tipped rod with a squid on a mission for a Jew the sounder was showing heaps of fish so our anticipation levels were high while waiting for a hookup I chucked around some gulps and poppers for no result after an hour for zip we up anchor and head further round the corner wind was picking up so we headed into Patonga beach , right up to the shore started a nice drift , next minute my overhead goes off,5 winds on the big reel and a 40 cm flattie is landed not much sport on big gear next drop it clicks again and a chopper succumbs to it's awesome power (lol) I retire the big rod out comes the light gear and on goes a turtleback in pumpkinseed , Dad does the same we start landing just under legal flathead after flathead , 12 each were released then Dads rod goes nuts , I call it for a trevally , but once again I'm wrong it's a bream and a big one at that I got a couple of small whiting after that , no luck in equaling the old man's effort we ended up with 3 good flatties each after about 6 or 7 drifts after a very tough day on the water at least we got a feed each wind picked up too much by now and we had been at it for 8 hours, time to go home. Ray R
Thats a good haul, that patonga area is good for flatties, try drifting along the rocks up toward lion island, fish right in close about 10 feet away, usually some good flatties in there as well. Good report and good fish as well . On ya Dad.... Cheers Ray R..
