Yeah! was thinking if we get bored with the salmon, we might hook one up and send it out in hope of an upgrade!!! not sure if the gear ive got will handle it, but might have some fun finding out!

fishingrod Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 I heard that they actually banned the shark fishing up there about 1-2 years ago. Some kind of restriction on the size of tackle you could use or the size of bait or hook allowed effectivally eliminated shark fishing I think. Im not sure on the exact details. Ive only 4x4'ed up there and never fished, so cant give any hints, sorry. Rod
choad Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 TIP1: watch out for the hoons on trail bikes that try and kick up sand on your reels. TIP2: try royal red prawns and chicken breast for some big bull bream.
caine Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 (edited) yeah i heard you cant use steel traces on the beach no more dont know if its true but check with the ranges, i think you need permission to camp on the beach Edited July 15, 2007 by CaineS
AnyChance Posted July 14, 2007 Author Posted July 14, 2007 yeah i heard you cant use stell traces on the beach no more dont know if its true but check with the ranges, i think you need permission to camp on the beach I looked up the story about the guys that had a 4wd with a game fishing chair strapped to the bullbar! ....they had a mate swimming bait out on a surfboard!!!..buggered if I'm going to get on a 'lilo' (dodn't own a surfboard) and paddle bait out!!!! crikie!!! I did see something about bait weight being limited too 200grams! I think we'll have a great week anyway! The Red Royal prawn tip is something I'll try ......If I can find em! I'm thinking maybe tailer might be the go............Promise to make a report .........regardless! (knowing us lot .............fish / no fish .............it will be worth a read) Last adventure in the hawkesbury involdeved naked fishing (due to Man overboard..........bloody cold it was too).............was a laugh and thankfully, the camera (his) went overboard..............otherwise it would have been one UGLY report! I can't see anything wrong with using a metal trace though, given that location can often provide Tailor! I'll take in on board, though feel most rangers would be leanient, depending on your setup! As for camping, I understand it is nether permitted nor Not permitted.......................but tolerated. Can't wait!
AnyChance Posted July 16, 2007 Author Posted July 16, 2007 aim for jews who cares about tailer Good idea!!! and definately on the cards! Though with the weather the way it is looking for Thursday/Friday. It could be yucky I've purchased a Fishing Kite (Allows you to get your bait out upto 500M so they claim - have to have enough line on the spool though!) never tried it before, but sounds like fun. Now all I need is a more northerly facing beach that it suitable for camping. Any Ideas??????
