RockHoppin
nice pig mate do you get them very often when using red crabs? Not when using whole crabs, no. Only the bigger pigs tend to go for the full crabs - like the beast pictured.

powersalt
hi rockhoppin, how do you rig up the crab? what rig is best for the blue brute? And as to what i know, if you burley, there will be lots of tiddlers hanging around the rocks. How do u manage to sneak your bait away from these bait stealers, especially crabs? cheers mate

You need to make sure the hook is hidden with only the point sticking out. They dont swallow the bait straight up...they mash it up a little (thats when you get the big "tap tap taps" on your line...then they gulp it down - thats when your line gets tighter..then you hold on Anyways, the burley always attracts the little sh*ts that pinch your bait, but whole crabs are much tougher than your average baits and will stay on longer. But if a big blue is around, no other fish will challenge him for the crab. And yeah, you can bait up urchins if you really wanted to but they are a pain. crabs are your best bet mate. Cheers RH

And its all just bottom bashing mate...light sinker, not so light line and some heavy duty hooks and you're in business.
