nargse1 Posted August 21, 2007 Share Posted August 21, 2007 im going to join a fishing club soon. i need to provide my own rod. we will be doing alot of outside fishing (12mile reef, browns etc) and was wondering if anyone could guide me in the direction of a good rod and reel, line (mono or braid?), tackle etc basically making up a good set up for outside fishing???? TheDiko Posted August 21, 2007 Share Posted August 21, 2007 Bottom Bashing = Braid The advantages of braid over mono for bottom bashing are endless. If you're going to give the mountain a go I would very strongly suggest an Alvey deck winch, nothing beats 'em. As for the rod, depending on what test line you will be fishing, the Shimano Tyrnos Tcurve would be my choice of rod for the task. A good trolling rod aswell. Hi Mate, If I was you I would wait till I joined the club before buying a new rod. Get to know the folks in the club and see what they are using as they will know more about what type of fishing is done most regularly.
