Hi everyone, went for a fish with 2 mates and my 2 sons on the

Harbour on Friday about 2pm. Went straight to our spot which had

fired for us 13 days ago.

We spun up several 45-54cm tailor which were busting up the surface

when we 1st got there, most released but kept 2 each.

We also caught 9 Kings 61-79cm, all on peeled prawn and pillie pieces, kept

the 3 biggest for the table, also got a couple of legal Snapper and a

couple of Flatties.

penguin,

what rig do you use?

5.5kg mono line small swivel down to a 2 size mustad

bait holder hook, and no sinker on a 4000 size shimano reel on 3-6kg 7ft rod.

Another good kingfish session Penguin  You sure know where to get good fish in the harbour. I don't think you'd even worry about using a gps too often either.

Cheers

jewgaffer :1fishing1:

Thanks Jewgaffer, I only use the gps outside Syd Heads, but I havent been outwide

for a while now.

I can't believe I spend so much time catching squid. Much easier to peel a big prawn and let it float down me thinks.

Too good fellas.

Yeah, and to make matters worse, there probably from the local servo. Thats so unfair Penguin :mad3:

:Funny-Post::074::074:

You know I had a couple of Yakkas out live, and all afternoon not a single touch on them,

go figure, all those pelagics around and the Yakkas still live.

thanks mate for the info penguin.

Now i jus need to work out where your king spot is in the harbour. i think i know where that is :yahoo:

You say you use 5.5kg mono line is that with the leader as well??

I was out on the bay on saturday day and usin 10lb leader and i had no hope pulling a king up was thinking it was around the 70cm and i had no hope pulling this baby up. :mad3: Maybe hopping 12lb would give me that slight extra chance of gettin one up.

Mate the line I use is the Mustad Ultra Line Thor in 12lb its super strong, I not long ago went to

a few tackle shops and department stores and baught all the diff types of 12lb mono I could find

and over the next few days I did some experimenting with them, I found this line to work best

for my style of fishing.

I use it as my main line and leader and its got great knot strength as well. Its handled Kingies

to 80cm if I set my drag properly. The key I find is to have a super flexible rod to act as a shock

absorber also.
