Flathead From Sydney Harbour

Recommended Posts

Went to sydney harbour after for a quick yellow tail session today off the warf. Not alot of action happening. Put on a frozen yellow tail from last week and throw it into the harbour ... ...

just after mid night so officially 1 Mar..... the rod jumped, and almost losted the rod, jump up caught the rod just in time ... and start reeling it in... not much fighting happening thought was a port jackson ... but when the monster come to the surface ... every one screamed out its a flathead, and it give a good fight ... but luckly not too long safely landed on the wharf ....

Head to Tail 80cm on the spot ....

What a great start for March ... biggest flat head so far ... very excited

Good on ya! I was with gmaster last night. 80cm croc was a thumber! it really looked like a port jackson from the distance. it was fulling dragging down after surfacing..reel screamed and had kinda no control at once... it was breathtaking! luckily there is a stair just underneath the water, so he could use the wave to land this monster.

Congra again for your PB croc! going for 90cm mark now aye! haha

Nice flathead gmaster, looks like the river duskies have moved up further into the harbour. Flathead tolerate some dirty water. Is their still a lot of dirty water coming down?

Cheers

Its too dark to tell the colour of harbour water, but around dead corners you do still see quite alot of debri and foaming.

Well done gmaster. That's a great fish in any estuary but awesome to see it in the Harbour.

Was only recently lamenting the lack of big flathead in the Parramatta/Lane cove rivers and harbour and here you go pulling in a monster.

My PB is only 52cm while the wife has bragging rights with 56cm. Gives me hope for next time.

cheers

Don't worry about them hiding their spots, you will be able to identify more and more spots if you travel a bit. You'll even get a flathead with head lice after a Sydney bus ride these days.
