Guest Jocool Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 I'm leaning towards a cable steer Minn Kota when I get a new boat. 28693[/snapback] Why not the cable steer from MG...Lot cheaper isnt it???
Ken A Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 I have a 54 pound Motorguide cable steer on my Hornet Tyrone & after 2 years of use I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I fitted an anode to the leg ($10) & 2 minutes installation & spray it regularly under the foot pedal with Inox & thats it. Gets a from me.
tyrone07 Posted January 24, 2005 Author Posted January 24, 2005 Im going the motorguide the 44lb 1 thats all my tinney will need they also said an anode for $20 so it stays under warranty There is a mercury dealer up here who gave me a good qoute. Ken how long does yours run off battery and does it run off twelve or 24 volts.
Ken A Posted January 24, 2005 Posted January 24, 2005 Mines a 12V & I have a 100AH battery & I get a day & bit. Bear in mind up here where I fish we get a tide variation of up to 8.5 feet so a lot of my fishing is done in strong current.
