  1. Absolutely mate, I think that's why I have really gotten back into Bream fishing, plenty of options close to the ramp and generally with the limited time I can fish a few different spots regardless of the tides
  2. Thanks mate, next mission is one that size topwater hopefully 🤞, Hes actually 12 months in two weeks, how the time flys
  3. G'day Raiders, been a little while between drinks with work and a newborn baby to contend with my fishing time is limited these days. Finally had a morning off where conditions looked good and had a game plan to go target some boat hulls for some Bream. After an hour and a half for a few small tailor, I decided to change it up and go and look at some racks nearby. First cast with a 2.5inch slim swim Zman on 4lb was crunched with what we called for an EP at first turned out to be a cracking Bream. After some tense moments a 43cm Bream was in the boat. Got some quick snaps before we put her back. Had two more solid hook ups which ended as quick as they begun with the typical smoking. I normally would never fish that light in the racks but my mate using a similar set up on 6lb couldn't get a bite, as soon as he dropped to the silly string he got dusted. Had a quick flick near the ramp and managed a couple if lizards with one kept for tea.
  4. Bloody hell mate I was confused did he catch you or a snapper? Hard to tell with that head 🤣 just kidding cracking red
  5. This is one of the best reports I've seen to date on Fishraider sensational 👌
  6. My bet with the water temps at the moment it was probably a wahoo that took you're lure
  7. S632 of the Local Government Act 1993 relates to signage and enforcement of restrictions on council related signs in public places, id have to see the signage to see the legitimacy of such. I've had a look at the Inner West LGA council by-laws and can not see any mention of restrictions relating to fishing on their website policy documents either
  8. G'day Raiders, it's been way to long between drinks with Covid, work and welcoming a newborn in October the fishing has been few and far between. The wife had flown back to South Australia with the little dude for the Xmas/ New Year Break with me not travelling down until just before Xmas day I had the opportunity to finally get out for a flick at Lake St Clair with a mate. We were on the water by 5 and were at our first spot within 10 minutes of launching. I was throwing a cicada lure, whilst my mate was throwing a "whopper plopper" surface lures. After the first forty five minutes he had boated 5 bass, without my lure even getting a look in, I quickly asked my mate to borrow a "whopper plopper". The top water bite was slow but rewarding with us ending up with 14 bass between us. The wind came up and we made the call to call it quits just after midday. The majority of our bass came off the top and after some photos all released healthily. Absolute cracking part of the world and the bass on bream gear pull a treat. Here's to a better 2022 👌
  9. With the world going mad and with my line of work going to work and dealing with Covid on the front line I finally got a chance to go to the local creek two mins from home and flick some little Jackall cranks around the tree branches the bass were on fire. In the space of half an hour I had landed 8 bass with the hook straightening on a proper one. Slow rolling the cranks with the odd pause was firing the fish up massively. All fish released, too good a species to only catch once
  10. Great finish in the men's road race
  11. Having fished with Jeff on several occasions it's the old philosophy of find the bait, find the fish. Whilst it is definitely more technical the general principles are to work your lure In known spots with good showings of bait on the sounder, the snapper are generally not to far behind. Whilst there are a number of exceptions to the rule shallow reefs and kelp beds, gravel in between hard reefs and pinnacles holding bait are good locations to throw plastics.
  12. High Visibility is as much as a deterrence as is enforcement, the end of the day she may have wanted to have a chat and look at your boat or something harmless.
  13. Find the bait find the fish mate, Brisbane Waters is a great fishery
  14. Haha would love to be at Murrays but I'll be working keeping the streets clean, good luck but 👌
  15. Good stuff mate, weather looks much better for the interclub this week
  16. I'm surprised you didn't hook a snapper on the skirts mate, two legends glad you snuck in a visit
  17. Hahahaha maybe just shit guide 🤷‍♂️😆
  18. PE 16 wow, would love to see a reel that could handle that much drag
  19. Good stuff mate, I definitely need to explore those reefs a little bit more, my boat always seems to have an auto pilot north to Port Stephens though 🤷‍♂️
  20. Rest up mate hope to see you out on the water again soon.
  21. Told ya mate ten years you would be targeting the sweep, may have to start now. 3lb mainline and leaders, little pink kmart rod
  22. I've fished the lake a handful of times and the only advice I can offer is find the bait find the fish. Plenty of good structure through out the lake, the best success I have had is looking for the tailor schools and fishing underneath them with plastics and vibes.
  23. Moon phase and all the fresh would have had a lot to do with how Broughton fished today as well.
