vipernut
Finally manage to take some photos of most of my dads collection of knives. Each one has been hand made. Most of the collection.Kept in a metal case for protection. This one gets its own timber case. This one the handle is made from goats horn.I remember this one took him probably the longest to complete. This knife is approx 40cm long. Home made machete, has seen plenty of use. Dads general use knife, also seen plenty of use. The collection.

Dreamtime
They are beautiful - a little resemblance to some of the Bucks I've seen. Now that's talent!!! What does your dad use for the blanks??? Are any for sale??

Evets
My Dad is a fitter and turner and used to make knives as well. He once told me that the best steel to use for knife making comes from a wood working file. I will have to ask him why and maybe scrounge up a piccy as well.
