Jerusalem Bay

Hey guys.

It was 5:15am on Saturday morning. I had just arrived at my mates house whose boat was ready to go. Not long after, we left for the Hawkesbury River. We hit the water just before 7 and the gleaming sunrise was an indication of a fine day.

We decided to fish in Jerusalem Bay, not too far from the entrance. The tide was starting to run out. One of my mates began the day with a few baby snapper. But the rest of us were quiet. Until about 1/2 hour later, my other mate (who owns the boat) had his pilchard smashed by a 49cm flattie. He insisted I get the landing net, but who knew it had a hole in it? The fish went straight through, but luckily it didnt un-hook itself and we ended up landing it. Phew!!!

Not long after, I got onto a baby jewey using prawns, about 30 cms in size. Back she goes!

My mates son caught a 47cm jewey 20 mins after me. I was dirty on him. LOL. But at the end of the day we all had heaps of fun. Cant wait to go again.

looks like the hawkesbury is slowly starting to fire up all over the place we fished wisemans on sunday for a few quality fish and another member put up a great post about some jew and flathead at berowra. Dont ya just love it when the fish come on! congrats and keep the posts coming. well done.

gotta love catching jews.Last time I had a decent jew was at the vines. Thought we had a big bream, turned out to be a small school jew. They are great fish.

i dont think the river ever really stopped this winter it did slow down for about 3 weeks in the middle of winter but the fishing has been hot other than that all year........

some nice jewies there .....i personally dont like fishing jeruselam on a weekend as there is norm to much traffic with large cruisers intent on making the most wash they possibly can.....
