0 dogtooth
Hi brickman , we used to call them red eye jellyblubba , They are a jellyfish usually only found out the shelf and beyond but with the southerlies pushing the clean water along our coast at the moment there are quite a few . I counted at least 10 in Botany Bay on sunday and first thought they were squid , I was going to take a picture and post it .It is the first time i have ever seen them in Botany Bay . the one you got there has died as the brown bit is usually red . Have had the boat surrounded by them night fishing out the shelf and they do swim like squid.... Cheers Dogtooth....... John.... .

0 whi7eindustries
Weird looking things huh! we had around 1000 plus washed up on Bondi beach couple of days ago, never ever seen them before, found a coconut covered in goose barnacles and a few By-the-wind-sailors and of course bluebottles, funnily enough no-one in the water. Cheers, Tobe
