Gday Simmo,

The second one is a Scorpion Fish or Rock Cod, otherwise known as the 'poor mans lobster' - very nice white flesh however this fish also has several sharp and poisonous spikes on its back - be careful handling this fish

Sorry Tan but I disagree.

The second fish is a fortescue. Nasty little buggers with their poisonous spines.

The third one is a silver biddy.

First one one is a wrasse but I can't be bothered looking up which one! :074:

Cheers,

Grant.

The first fish is definately a wrass of which i have caught many. This type is not an endangered species. The only wrass that is endangered is the elegant wrass, and these tend to be more multi coloured.

Rock cod is really good in a gumbo, and as previously posted, the poor mans lobster.

Cheers

i have caught lots of those wrasse off catherine hill bay or mabe simillar ones, i was told that they were maori wrasse and arent to good eating so i have allways released them ..but im not sure.

other one is DEFINATLY a fortescue. i know this because i received about 10 puncture wounds from one while sorting through a prawn net resulting in severe pain and a horrible sweatty fever-like feeling.

i hate them with a passion

yeah i 4th that.

BTW the wrasse and fortescue will go well in a tank provided it is big enough for the wrasse to have room to swim around lots.

Did you peel the prawn or use it whole to catch the bourbon fish. Whichever method where did you catch it. I wouldnt mind catching a six pack or two. :1prop:
