robeebee
Dad and I were on the water by 6.30 am at oatley bay we both decided to try something other than turtlebacks today , see what happens i say I was using squidgy worms and Dad wrigglers , both pro series with S factor headed to our usual spot and started casting bang , zzzzzzzzzzinggggggggggggg , bugger dropped a good fish then all went dead nothing nada zilch for 2 and a half hours, not that we didn't try hard ,went to many different spots different retrieves , depths , water temps , the lot finally Dad gets a hit worlds smallest Bream 10 minutes later I get a wet sock fight from a 41 cm flattie , oh well , I've got dinner then Dad gets another hit and its better this time , gives him a bit on 4 pound nice mid thirties Breambo this half hour period between 9.30 and 10 .00 made our morning I was on next on my new 2 pound set up and didn't this Bream give it to me , lovin'it another mid thirties model then it's Dads turn again and he thinks its small , gets near the boat and it's off , nice flattie couple of runs and its safely in the net now going by the BOM site barometer started dropping , and so did the bites we persisted for a while but were wasting our time got a good feed anyhow nice to know we can catch fish on lures other than turtlebacks

jenno64
Well done Rob, I hit a spot near the entrance to Oatley Bay a couple of weeks ago and used the Squidgy pro worms for a few flatties. Does it fish better run in or out?

Ray R
G'day Rob, that's a great session you and your dad had, often does that hours of flicking for no fish then for some reason it takes off, you ended up with some nice fish and a few hours as a father son team, priceless time.. Congrats.. Cheers...
james7
I always enjoy reading your reports robeebee. They're well written with great photos. Good to see you and your dad eventually ended up with some quality fish. I got a bit worried reading the beginning of your report. Typically for you, persistence paid off. Congratulations to "Team NON-Turtleback"! Cheers Peter
