Mercer007
Just a quick report on the newly opened Avoca Lagoon. Met Ray R down at the lagoon for a quick flick with SP's. The Mullet were everywhere jumping out the water and carrying on. We were using light gear and there were a few that were interested in what we had to offer. It started out as a fairly quiet affair but with the ammount of strikes and losses there was a few grunts and groans of exitement, and plenty of laughter to boot. The best fun I've ever had fishing. Here's a couple of pics we took of the outing. One of the mullet caught went 49cm. Bit of bait for later on. Cheers Pete

Tiger Cam
Mullet sure are capable of giving the light rod a good bend. Good to see you fellas squeezing a fun session in during this average weather. Cheers, Cam

jewiehaven
Just to prove mullet can be caught on placcies. Well Pete, these's always a first for everything... I never heard of mullet on placcies before and now I am convinced. What SP's were you guys using??? Ya know once the Avoca logoon was so badly polluted they closed down all the entranced to it and there used to be signs stating "no swimming or eating fish" from the area. Looks like a lot of fun though I am gonna get my mate who lives up Cowan Creek way to give em a bash up there too, I reckon you might just be onto something there mate. that 40+cm model is a cracker- those fillets and gut will make great bait.
