myocard Posted February 11, 2011 Share Posted February 11, 2011 Most tackle stores will have the hoop-style nets. Around $6 each. You can use five of these per licenced fisherman. A trap that is suited for mud crabs will be around $30.00 You can only use one of these and no hoop nets at the same time. You'll catch blue swimmers and mud crabs in the hoop nets. But you wont catch a blue swimmer in a mud crab trap. You do get some bloody big eels in them though. I have a crab net bought a couple of years ago but only used once, still look like new. You can come and pick it up for free. I am in Hurstville, btw.
