Ray R
G'day Raiders, been away for a couple of weeks up Crescent Head area. Hutcho and I along with our families and a bunch of other friends made our 30th April hol to the area. We like to have a fish or two while we are up there and we did manage a few fish in amongst the waves. There were a heap of small whiting there this year with the ratio of about one keeper for every ten fish caught, didn't matter to us though as being up at dawn with a buddy fishing on beach with no one but yourselves and a beautiful sunrise is all worth it. Went around the rocks at Racecourse Headland a couple of times and found schools of tailor and bonnies busting up, we had some fun with these until we had enough of them, also scored a few bream on the cunji which is all over the rocks, I had a small mishap on those evil volcanic type rocks as well, one small slip produced 2 very scratched shins. So that's were I have been, enjoying some camping, fishing, campfire drinks and a lot of enjoyment with a great bunch of folks. As usual I managed a few pics to share with you.. Sun coming up over Delicate Nobby Looking at our beach from Racecorse Headland Hutcho and Myself Camping life Tasty bream and whitng My smashed shins (ouch) Edited April 23, 2011 by Ray R

Pgh
Hey Ray, I haven't been up that way in over 6 years. Your photos reminded me of what a magic spot it is ( I hope the road b/w Crescent and Pt Plomer remains unsealed). Great pics and some good size bream by the look of things. Brian
Ray and Hutch, I was wondering where you two'd got to, haven't seen a post in a while. Thought you might have given it away for a while. What a great report, again and obviously a other fantastic trip. Are you fairdinkum it's your 30th trip there. That is fantastic, a lifetime of memeories. I thought our group was going well with 10 in a row to Forster. Mate nice legs but, you need a new razor Hutch, what was the result of that bend in your rod? I always love your camp set up and have looked closely at all your previous pics for the best way to string a tarp. Whenever I see a good tarp setup I make the comparison. Reckon you blokes are well infront. Hutch, you are right about the Harbour. Some biiiiig kings lurking about there now and just amazing to see how well it is fishing these days. I will give a you a phone call next week. Cheers, Brian.

Hutcho1
Hi Ray, Great post and awesome pics. Did you outfish Hutch???? Had the family out on the Hawkesbury today and landed a 70cm Flathead. Chappo Hey Guys pretty even in the fish catching stakes but everyone's a winner camping. The rod bend was as a result of a large salmon than ended up bending my size 4 whiting hook straight. Great time up there as usual. Hitting the sack early for a very very early start to target snapper at our favorite spot. Got 30 or so the other day so we are pretty stoked to be havning another crack. Hopefully a good post tomorrow. Hutcho and Ray back in town and hopefully on fire. arpie
Hey Hutcho & Ray - great to see you & the families getting together again, to enjoy our great outdoors. Well done on the fishing front - those breambos look good! Shame about the slip-up, Ray - always painful - those rocks are very unforgiving! I don't do rocks much these days! Hope the scratches have healed. Prior to The Entrance, I'd forgotten just how much fun you can have, fishing the beaches!! We were amazed at the quality & quantity of fish available. Good on ya for getting out there & giving it a shot. Bet you'll enjoy harrassing your 'home turf fish' again now, too!! Roberta
