Greetings all,

You most probably weren't aware of Road Regulation 200 which states: " The driver of a heavy vehicle, or long vehicle, must not stop on a length of road in a built-up area for longer than 1 hour".

And a long vehicle "means a vehicle that, together with any load or projection, is 7.5 metres long, or longer", ie vehicles with trailers attached greater than 7.5m in length are considered "long vehicles".

Road Regulation 200 is attached.

Pittwater Council have sent out a Parking Guide brochure to its ratepayers listing the most common parking faults that occur in the Pittwater local area, including Road Regulation 200. Unfortunately PWC ommit the offence occurs when parking exceeds 1 hour.

And this possibly explains the lack of cars and boat trailers now parking on the road outside Rowland Reserve Boat Ramp.

It will only be a matter of time before other Councils pick up on Road Regulation 200.

Thanks for that it wont be long before the councils hone in on a new source of revenue.

I guess half of Sydney's boat ramps are now ornaments, or a day in the boat has become even more expensive. Either that or you detach the trailer fom the car, beware of the runaway trailer at the hilly areas surrounding some ramps. That might be more entertainment than watching the shenanigans at the ramp itself.
