craigbutcher
Hi Raiders, Hit the long reef boat ramp at 5:30am and set off to the blackroad bait grounds. Managed some nice Slimies and few Yakkas Running back along Narrabeen beach we hit a few nice schools which held a mixed bag of Bonito, Tailor, Salmon & Frigget Tuna. After collecting some Bonito & Frigget for bait, we took off out to Long Reef wide. We cubed hard with Bonito & Slimey mackerell for 45minutes without a single fish on the sounder. We floated Slimey fillets down the berley trail and ... Until my rod goes zzzz, and a nice 83cm Jewfish popped up. zzzz 10minutes later a nice 93cm Jewfish popped up. zzzz 10minutes later a nice 75cm Jewifish popped up (Released the last fish as the kegal limits are 2 Fish only over 70cm). We left them biting and headed home early for a big filleting session! Some nice schoolies around off the reefs around long reef! Water temp was around 22.5 the whole session, awesome! Formosan
Nice fish mate. Congrats. Apart from the background and the shades, you would think they are the same fish.

craigbutcher
HI Deschanel, Yeh I was very suprised how tasty the larger model Jewfish are. No soapy smell or taste at all, just a nice big white fillet that stay very moist when cooked. Pumped on getting some more Tid-change Jewfish. Heard there are heaps around the reefs at the moment. Thanks Butch
