Harbour Blackfish Session

Luderick-Angler & myself hit the harbour yesterday for a good session

with the blackfish. Over a couple of hours we bagged between us 11 good

fish & dropped another 7. All were caught on cabbage. What also made

it a top day I broke in my new Raven Steelhead float rod which I had

ordered from the States & it peformed very well as a blackfish rod.

It's 11'4" graphite with a cork butt & sliding rings so you can move

your centre pin reel to any positon you like. Being made of graphite

it's light & comfortable to hold & you don't end up with an aching

arm after a long session fishing.

Good session. Just got back from a week in Narooma. Looking forward to floating some cabbage for a few blackfish. Maybe tomorrow if the weather holds. They have slowed right down on the southside, but we will see if the ocean rocks are producing.

Great catch fellas. What time of the day and tide did you guys fish? If you don't mind me asking did you fish the East side or West side of the bridge. I didn't take any chances and tried both sides, Cremorne wharf for 2 hours and Balmain East wall and wharf for another 2 hours this morning. Used cabbage after long trek from Parramatta to the north side rocks last evening. Worst blackfishing session I have ever had.

Between my wife and myself 1 down all morning. Water was pretty calm and reasonably bright sunshine with a run-up tide. Ah well had a good morning driving and fishing :).

Cheers Larry
