fishythings Posted June 9, 2012 Posted June 9, 2012 Hi raiders, I went fishing to the usual cliff at Coogee this evening as the weather was pretty bad in the last few days. Managed to get to the spot at 4.00pm using my newly bought rod, a 12ft one-piece custom made and Daiwa vintage reel 4000X with 20lb monoline and white bread as bait. The first cast straightly hooked up with the biggest drummer I've ever caught. It pulled the line unbelievable. I could not crank the reel properly, so just twisted the handle many times. Another half an hour I got several bites but I pulled out the hooks, maybe the hooks I'd been using were too small as I could feel big fish pulled the line. Then I caught big pike, but I gave it to some one fishing next to me. As getting dark and I could not see my float anymore so I quit and got home at 5.10pm, not bad after long time got no chance for fishing. Have a nice weekend. Cheers, Andy
